SAP IBP (Demand) Consultant – statistical forecasting - demand sensing - Sales & Operations Planning – India

Empiric are currently working alongside a global manufacturing leader to find a hands on SAP IBP ( Demand ) SME supporting a live SAP IBP Demand setting. Configuration, enhancement and troubleshooting across statistical forecasting, demand sensing and consensus demand processes, integrated with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, APO and BW via CPI-DS.

Only hands-on skills are accepted: candidates are tested on configuration detail only.

Plus experience in design and configuring Flexible Planning Areas (SAP7F) and Order-Based Planning Profiles. You will implement order-based heuristics and optimizers for supply and deployment planning. Together with setting up and managing Real-Time Integration (RTI) with SAP S/4HANA..

Skills / Experience

- Deep and recent hands-on SAP IBP Demand Planning
- Statistical forecasting model configuration: full model structure (pre-processing, forecasting, post-processing), model selection logic, and forecast error measures (MAPE, bias, forecast value added)
- Outlier correction configuration, including handling genuine seasonal peaks without losing real demand signal
- Key figure and attribute configuration: attribute transformation versus attribute as a key figure,



and realignment rules (including which key figure types can be used)
- Planning area and planning level design, master data types and attributes, copy operators
- Integration between SAP IBP and SAP S/4HANA, ECC, APO and BW via CPI-DS
- 8+ years total SAP demand / supply chain planning experience across APO and/or IBP

Advantageous:

- Demand sensing configuration and short-term forecast override judgement (for example, distinguishing a genuine spike from a prior-year order pattern distortion)
- Analytical stories / dashboard build, including performance tuning on large data volumes
- Working conceptual knowledge of SAP IBP Supply / OBP / Time Series — enough to explain how the demand plan feeds supply
- Ticket-driven AMS / support environment, including P1/P2/P4 incident triage
- SAP IBP certification — valued alongside production delivery evidence, not as a substitute for it
