– Specialist - Polymer Chemistry Ensure compliance with laboratory safety policies, EHS guidelines, and secure handling of chemicals, polymers, and hazardous materials.
Adhere to quality systems, SOPs, GLP/GMP requirements, and documentation practices.
Design, synthesize, and develop polymers, copolymers, functional materials, and polymer intermediates for research and pharma commercial applications. Conduct hands on experiments utilizing wide polymer experience for CDMO pharma projects.
Develop innovative polymerization routes and material synthesis strategies to meet targeted product performance requirements.
Optimize polymer synthesis and processing conditions to establish robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
Characterize polymers and materials using analytical techniques such as NMR (¹H, ¹³C, 2D), FTIR, GPC/SEC, DSC, TGA, DMA, rheology, PXRD, HPLC, GC, LC-MS and HRMS.
Investigate structure-property relationships, thermal behavior, crystallinity, molecular weight distribution, and mechanical performance of polymeric materials.
Conduct formulation development and process optimization for specialty polymers and advanced materials.
Perform scale-up studies and support technology transfer from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial manufacturing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Analytical R&D;, Process Engineering,
Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Business Development.
Conduct literature reviews, patent searches, and technology assessments using scientific databases such as SciFinder and Reaxys.
Prepare technical reports, development reports, technology transfer documents, presentations, and project cost evaluations.
Handle air-sensitive, moisture-sensitive, and hazardous reagents/materials safely during laboratory and scale-up operations.
Demonstrate expertise in polymer chemistry, specialty polymers, coatings, adhesives, elastomers, composites, biodegradable polymers, and functional materials.
Support process troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate procurement and inventory management of chemicals, polymers, catalysts, solvents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
Ensure availability and maintenance of laboratory equipment, analytical instruments, and glassware required for project execution.
Manage sample dispatch, material movement, and associated documentation, including RGP/NRGP and other logistics requirements.
Contribute to innovation, intellectual property generation, and development of next-generation polymer technologies.
