- Responsible for overall Safety of the plant (external and internal).
- Execution of responsibilities as per Factory Act ,1948
- Up keeping of Fire Fighting equipments
Key Responsibilities (Performance Indicators)
- To ensure procedure for site inspection before clearing the hot job permits by the safety engineers.
- Prepare annual report, accidents trend and analysis and present the line management.
- Prepare safety plan and adherence to plan
- Ensure timely closure of all recommendations like audits, HAZOP, PSSHER, safety surveillance.
- To establish systems and procedures to impart safety training to all employees, contractors and guards.
- Responsible for Inspection and root cause analysis for all incidents/ accidents. Preparing reports follow up for recommendations.
- Developing safety systems to achieve zero accident targets.
- Co-ordination with HR for Laisoning with Factory Inspector and other official bodies.
- Ensure strict adherence to PPE;s in the plant operations.
- Accident investigation reports and taking suitable action for prevention in future.
- Safety audits as per statutory requirements.
- Implementation of safety capacity building exercise in co-ordination with all heads of the functions/ plants at the unit.

Qualification and Experience
- B.E / B.Tech - Chemical / Fire Engineer and Diploma in Industrial safety and
- 15- 20 years of experience in the area of industrial safety of large integrated chemical complex.

- Knowledge of operating modern fire and safety equipments.
- Solid training expertise on the subject.
- Skills to handle emergencies and critical situations.
- Having strong hands on experience in handling fire.
