Role description

POSITION SUMMARY The ServiceNow Mid-Level/Intermediate Developer (CMDB) will design, implement and support the ServiceNow platform with focus on the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role requires strong development skills to resolve defects, deliver enhancements, and build features keeping in alignment with ServiceNow development best practices. The developer will work closely with data owners to identify opportunities for CMDB expansion and improvement and will also be responsible for ensuring data quality and integrity.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Configure and enhance the (CMDB) in support of our IT Service Management (ITSM) processes including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Request Management, and Knowledge Management.
- Establish processes around the maintenance and improvement of data quality.
- Work with data owners to audit and review the CMDB, ensuring it is kept up-to-date and evergreen.
- Implement and govern Access Control Rules (ACL) ensuring data safety.
- Improve CMDB alignment with CSDM best practices and concepts
- Develop and support data ingestion pipelines for improved CMDB data quality using import sets, transform maps, and automated imports via REST/SOAP.
- Build and deploy reporting features focused on the CMDB internal to ServiceNow and leveraging additional tools such as Power BI.
- Troubleshoot issues, implement bug fixes and identify root cause analysis for all issues. Follow and adhere to all IT Service Management (ITSM) processes
- Maintain and continuously improve understanding of the processes, standards,



policies, working methods, and interfacing tools.
- Identify areas for IT Service Management (ITSM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) process improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ·

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

5+ years of IT industry experience

·

4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience with focus on the CMDB

·

Expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM): Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Request Management, Knowledge Management and Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

Experience working with data owners to keep CMDB data evergreen.

TETECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

· 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience

· 5+ years of development experience including JavaScript, and ServiceNow scripting (Glide API, Script includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, etc)

· Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required. Certified Application Developer (CAD) and the ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) is a plus.

· Troubleshooting experience and root cause analysis capabilities.

· Experience building custom CMDB tables and leveraging automated import capabilities.

· Experience with development and enhancement of ServiceNow integrations using Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)

· Knowledge of ITIL framework is desirable.

Secure Agile Framework experience is desirable.
