Company Description Superfan.ng (SPNG) is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The platform offers a gamified, quiz-first experience that tests deep understanding of African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs.

Designed for Africans and the global diaspora, Superfan seeks to make cultural learning engaging, accessible, and community-driven. The team blends technology, design, and education to build an app that celebrates and preserves African heritage for current and future generations.

Role Description The Senior User Interface Designer will lead the visual and interaction design of Superfan’s web and mobile experiences, ensuring a cohesive and culturally resonant interface across the platform. This full time remote role involves creating high-fidelity UI designs, building design systems, and collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to translate requirements into intuitive, scalable interfaces.

Day-to-day tasks include designing screens and components, producing detailed mockups and prototypes, refining interaction patterns, and iterating based on user feedback and data. The Senior UI Designer will also help define design standards, mentor other designers,



and contribute to a user-centered product roadmap aligned with SPNG’s mission.

Qualifications

- Strong user interface design skills, including experience creating layouts, components, and design systems.
- Proficiency in visual design and mockups, with the ability to produce polished, production-ready assets.
- Solid understanding of user experience (UX) principles and collaborative work with UX researchers or product teams.
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts and workflows to ensure designs are feasible and implementable.
- Expertise with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and versioning/collaboration practices.
- Experience designing for mobile-first products and responsive web interfaces.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and experience presenting and defending design decisions to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Portfolio demonstrating shipped digital products, preferably consumer-facing or in edtech or cultural/learning platforms.
- Interest in or familiarity with African languages and cultures is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
