The role is hands-on, end-to-end, and focused on production-grade application layers, business logic, and API workflows.

Company: MariaDB Role: Developer Location: India remote Experience 5+ years of professional software development experience

At least 2 years focused on data-intensive applications, database-adjacent features, or enterprise software

End-to-end ownership of a non-trivial production feature or module from specification through production

Production experience deploying, debugging, and managing services across at least two major public clouds

Experience building or integrating with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, or RAG systems

Prior work building LLM-based applications or workflows using AI agent frameworks Responsibilities Lead the full software development lifecycle from application design and API implementation to deployment and feature monitoring

Connect production applications with agent frameworks and interoperability protocols to support scalable, framework-agnostic APIs

Develop secure, versioned application data models for multi-tenant isolation, auditability, and data classification

Build application services that deploy consistently across cloud and on-premises environments

Define and meet feature-level performance goals through query optimization, code profiling, caching strategies, and proactive security practices

Maintain full ownership of application components and contribute to constructive design and code reviews





Mentor team members and help drive decisions in an async-first setting

Work on application layers, business logic, and API workflows at the intersection of data management, AI applications, and relational database operations Additional Responsibilities Ensure robust deployment across cloud and on-premises environments

Work in a small, senior, highly autonomous engineering team

Interact directly with customers and product leadership

Adopt open-source aggressively where appropriate

Cede work that belongs to the ecosystem

Internalize and defend clear scope boundaries for what the team owns Nice To Have Contributing to or maintaining open-source projects in the database, AI/ML application, or agent-tooling ecosystem

Hands-on experience developing MCP servers

Integrating A2A protocols into production systems

Familiarity with agent memory frameworks such as Mem0, Graphiti, or Letta

Experience leveraging graph databases or multi-hop graph traversal within applications

Background with in-memory data grids or semantic caching systems such as Redis

Experience packaging applications for on-premises or air-gapped deployment environments, including regulated infrastructure

Knowledge of MariaDB or MySQL application development
