ROLE

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end verification, security guardrails, and continuous optimization of our AWS cloud environments, specifically for post-migration workloads .

Collaborating across engineering and security teams within an Agile framework, you will champion least-privilege IAM policies, rigorously test deployment automation (blue-green, canary, rolling), and ensure robust logging, monitoring, and secrets management across all pipelines. We are seeking a proactive, AWS-certified or highly experienced self-starter with a solid background in compliance (PCI-DSS/donor PII privacy), disaster recovery testing, and automated security scanning (SAST/DAST) to safeguard our cloud ecosystem and guarantee seamless, resilient software releases.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Validate AWS infrastructure provisioning against approved architecture (VPC, subnets, security groups).
- Verify IAM roles and policies follow least-privilege principles.
- Implement and verify infrastructure security guardrails (AWS Config, GuardDuty, WAF).
- Validate encryption at rest and in transit for donor PII and payment data.
- Test auto-scaling behavior and backup/DR configuration.




- Verify compliance controls relevant to donor data privacy and PCI-DSS (if applicable to payment processing).
- Validate logging and monitoring completeness (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
- Validate CI/CD pipelines post-migration, including build and deployment automation.
- Test deployment strategies (blue-green/canary/rolling) and rollback mechanisms.
- Verify secrets management is properly integrated (no hardcoded credentials).
- Validate environment promotion path (dev → test → UAT → prod).
- Confirm pipeline security scanning steps (SAST/DAST) function correctly.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Essential

- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/IT.
- 5+ years' experience in QA/DevOps, with strong focus on infrastructure/cloud and CI/CD validation.
- Fluency in AWS services for logging, infrastructure, and configuration validation.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud security compliance and automated guardrails.
- Demonstrated experience validating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with AWS deployment tooling (CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, or equivalent third-party tools).
- Experience validating disaster recovery and failover scenarios.

Desirable

- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/SysOps/DevOps Engineer).
- Programming proficiency in TypeScript or Python.
- Experience with secrets management tools (AWS Secrets Manager, Parameter Store).
- Experience with data privacy regulations (CCPA, state privacy laws) relevant to donor data.
