Field: Sourcing/Procurement of Packaging material & Components.

Preference: Exposure to handling North and Northeast region suppliers.

- End to end management of the category assigned right from supplier discovery, price discovery and ensuring regular supply.
- Fact based negotiation with vendors based on material plus conversion cost, especially with respect to Thermocol, flexible packaging & Corrugated cartons and packaging materials like stickers, tapes, straps etc...
- Manage sourcing activity coordination and processes relating to new product development by leading in supplier identification & selection, capability assessment, quality improvement and supplier readiness.
- Draw up monthly/quarterly/seasonal/annual purchase plan for the materials in category.
- Negotiate with vendors in line with approved negotiation strategy and finalize: Price & Payment terms.
- Work with the product departments to identify, drive and review cost reduction/inventory control initiatives in the category.
- Optimize vendor tail. Improve/Optimize vendor service quality.
- Build & maintain cost sheets for all materials handled.
- Build negotiation strategies, category workbooks etc.
- Lead & conclude negotiations/build contracts (via RFI/RFQ/e-auction etc)




- Keep departments in the company aware of price fluctuations to do prepare Product costing effectively.
- Must be able to develop excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers as well as suppliers.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree.
- 5 years professional experience in purchase.
- Ability to estimate the material and conversion cost of Thermocol, flexible packaging , corrugated cartons and other paper based packaging materials.
- Possesses analytical and mathematical skills, quick thinking and a solid understanding of Packaging materials.
- Ability to evaluate procurement marketplace for assigned commodities.
- Remains current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings or any relevant technical documents.
- Working knowledge on BOM costing.
- Technical understanding of assigned commodities.
- Ability to perform in a team setting with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- IT Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook and SAP.
- Language Skills: Should be proficient in English and Hindi.
- This position requires travel to meet suppliers across India.
