SOIL Institute of Management is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to drive student career readiness and employability initiatives. The role involves preparing MBA students for internships and final placements through structured training, career coaching, industry engagement, and personalized mentoring. The incumbent will work closely with students, faculty, recruiters, alumni, and the placements team to ensure students are equipped with the skills, mindset, and confidence required to succeed in competitive recruitment processes.
Key Responsibilities:
To lead the design and delivery of high-impact soft skills, communication, and employability programs that prepare students for successful careers. The role will strengthen students' professional readiness through structured interventions in personality development, business communication, interview preparation, and workplace effectiveness while collaborating with academic and corporate stakeholders to enhance placement outcomes.
1. Soft Skills & Employability Training
- Design and deliver comprehensive soft skills and employability training programs for students across academic programs.
- Develop customized training modules covering communication skills, personality enhancement, business etiquette, presentation skills, and workplace readiness.
- Conduct pre-placement training focused on aptitude, group discussions, personal interviews, and corporate expectations.
- Deliver engaging sessions on business communication, professional writing, executive presence, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Coach students on confidence building, leadership presence, emotional intelligence, networking, and professional behaviour.
- Assess student learning outcomes and continuously enhance training content based on feedback and industry requirements.
- Integrate experiential learning methodologies including simulations, role plays, case discussions, and mock interviews.
2. Industry Readiness & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the Career Services and Placement team to align training interventions with recruiter expectations.
- Engage with academic faculty to embed employability and professional skills within the learning journey.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals for guest sessions, workshops, and mock interview panels.
- Track student progress through assessments, feedback, and readiness metrics.
- Stay updated with evolving industry trends and corporate competency requirements to continuously strengthen training programs.
- Support placement initiatives by preparing students for campus recruitment and corporate interactions.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in soft skills, personality development, business communication, and employability training.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Solid understanding of campus recruitment processes and corporate hiring expectations.
- Ability to engage and motivate diverse student groups through interactive learning methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong content development and curriculum design capabilities.
- High ownership, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Management, Psychology, English, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in soft skills training, employability development, learning & development, or career services.
- Prior experience in higher education, business schools, universities, or corporate learning environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting pre-placement training, interview preparation, and business communication programs.
- Relevant certifications in Learning & Development, Behavioural Training, Communication, or Coaching will be an added advantage.
