Role Summary

Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise Linux infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role encompasses Linux operating system lifecycle management, Azure infrastructure administration, high-availability clustering, incident resolution, performance optimization, and compliance with organizational security and change management standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), and SUSE Linux Enterprise (SUSE).
- Provision, configure, and manage Linux workloads deployed on Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines.
- Perform operating system installation, patching, upgrades, kernel updates, package management, and system hardening in accordance with approved change management procedures.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Pacemaker-based High Availability (HA) clusters to ensure business continuity and service availability.
- Manage Azure infrastructure services, including Virtual Machines, Managed Disks, Virtual Networks (VNet), Network Security Groups (NSG), Storage Accounts, Load Balancers, Availability Sets/Availability Zones, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics .
- Monitor Linux servers and Azure infrastructure for availability, performance, capacity, and security, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Diagnose and resolve Linux operating system, Azure compute, storage, networking, and clustering issues within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring infrastructure incidents and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Execute system backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and maintenance activities in accordance with organizational policies.




- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, configuration records, and infrastructure runbooks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, security, and application support teams during deployments, upgrades, migrations, and production support activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, audit requirements, and ITIL-based Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management processes.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities and provide on-call or production support as required.

Required Technical Skills

- Robust hands-on experience administering Linux operating systems:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
- SUSE Linux Enterprise (SUSE)
- Extensive experience managing Linux workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure Virtual Machines
- Azure Storage
- Azure Managed Disks
- Azure Virtual Network (VNet)
- Network Security Groups (NSG)
- Azure Load Balancer
- Azure Monitor
- Log Analytics
- Azure Backup
- Experience configuring and administering Pacemaker High Availability Clusters.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating system patching, security hardening, kernel management, and performance tuning.
- Experience troubleshooting Linux server, Azure infrastructure, storage, networking, and cluster-related issues in enterprise production environments.
- Understanding of system monitoring, capacity planning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Working knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices.
