At LTSI, we are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented engineering professional to join our Engineering Services team as Senior Design Engineer – Tooling. The role involves analyzing production and manufacturing requirements, designing tooling solutions for aerospace manufacturing and MRO operations, and preparing engineering deliverables in compliance with aerospace engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards. The candidate will work closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering teams to support tooling development and implementation activities.

Responsibilities

Tooling Design & Development :

- Analyze production and manufacturing requirements to develop tooling concepts and engineering solutions for aerospace manufacturing and MRO operations.
- Design and develop tooling solutions and manufacturing aids in compliance with engineering standards, GD&T; requirements, aerospace quality standards, and manufacturability requirements.

Engineering Coordination & Production Support :

- Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering teams to support tooling development and implementation activities.

Systems, Documentation & Compliance :

- Prepare and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and tooling documentation in line with organizational and aerospace standards.
- Support engineering change management, revision control, and workflow activities within ERP and engineering systems.





Continuous Improvement :

- Contribute to process standardization, design optimization, and manufacturability improvement initiatives to enhance tooling effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical / Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing engineering, or tooling development within aerospace, aircraft component manufacturing, precision engineering, or related industries.

Required Skills :

- Proficient in tooling design, GD&T;, material selection, engineering drawings, BOM generation, and release packages.
- Hands-on experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks or equivalent engineering design tools, along with exposure to engineering release processes, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, engineering documentation, workflow management, production support systems.
- Good understanding of aerospace manufacturing standards, quality systems, production processes, and safety requirements applicable to aerospace manufacturing.
- Exposure to landing gear operations will be an added advantage.
- Solid analytical thinking, effective communication, coordination capability, and structured troubleshooting approach while working with stakeholders.
