ABOUT THE ROLE

DataRovers is looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer and Team Lead to design, optimize, and manage enterprise database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Data Warehousing, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure database technologies. This role requires strong database architecture, performance tuning, and leadership skills to build scalable, high-performance data solutions that support enterprise applications and analytics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

■ Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

■ Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, indexing strategies, and execution plans.

■ Troubleshoot and resolve database performance bottlenecks and scalability issues.

■ Design and implement enterprise Data Warehouse solutions, including dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas), fact and dimension tables.

■ Develop and optimize ETL and ELT pipelines for ingesting data from multiple sources into data warehouses and analytics platforms.

■ Build and maintain modern analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Data Pipelines, and OneLake.

■ Design and manage cloud database solutions using Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Storage.

■ Collaborate with BI and Analytics teams to deliver scalable reporting and analytical data models.

■ Ensure database security, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and high availability.

■ Lead database architecture decisions, establish best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

■ Work closely with application development and DevOps teams to support CI/CD and database deployments.





REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

■ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

■ 7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

■ Expert knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and stored procedure optimization.

■ Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including database administration, query optimization, indexing,

replication, and performance tuning.

■ Robust experience designing and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouses, including dimensional modeling, ETL and ELT processes, data marts, and large-scale analytical databases.

■ Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including: Fabric Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake, Data Factory,

Data Pipelines, and Fabric Notebooks (preferred).

■ Experience with Azure cloud database services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and cloud-native database architectures.

■ Experience working with large datasets and high-volume transactional systems.

■ Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery, replication, and high availability.

■ Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS





■ Experience with Azure Analysis Services or semantic models.

■ Experience with Power BI and enterprise reporting solutions.

■ Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Databricks.

■ Knowledge of database DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.

■ Microsoft Azure, Fabric, or SQL Server certifications are a plus.
