Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Backend for Frontend (BFF) Engineer with expertise in Node.js, GraphQL, and modern eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate will design and develop BFF services that enable seamless communication between frontend applications and backend microservices, delivering optimized, scalable, and high-performance APIs.

You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, UX teams, and backend engineering teams to build performant APIs that power customer-facing web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Backend for Frontend (BFF) services using Node.js.
- Build and maintain GraphQL APIs and schemas for web and mobile applications.
- Develop GraphQL resolvers that aggregate data from multiple backend services.
- Optimize API performance through caching, batching, and efficient data fetching techniques.
- Integrate with REST APIs, microservices, and third-party services.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to understand UI requirements and deliver tailored APIs.
- Ensure security, authentication, authorization, and API governance best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance and reliability.

Required Skills :

- 8 years of backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing GraphQL APIs.




- Experience with GraphQL servers such as Apollo Server or GraphQL Yoga.
- Robust understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience integrating multiple backend services into a unified API layer.
- Familiarity with Redis or similar caching technologies.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.

eCommerce Domain Experience (Mandatory) :

Candidates should have hands-on experience supporting one or more of the following eCommerce capabilities :

- Product Listing Page (PLP)
- Product Detail Page (PDP)
- Shopping Cart
- Checkout
- Product Catalog
- Search & Navigation
- Pricing & Promotions
- Inventory Management
- Customer Accounts
- Order Management

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with React or Next.js ecosystems and frontend integration.
- Knowledge of API Gateway patterns and headless commerce architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
