About Us At CosmoChute, we are building modular, reusable lunar robotics infrastructure for long-duration planetary operations. Our systems combine mobility, modular payload deployment, survivability through lunar nights, and repair ability to make sustained presence on the Moon economically viable. We’re a deeply technical, fast-moving team that believes in real ownership, real trust and in creating an environment where your best work matters.
If you want to work on hardware that will one day operate on the moon, this is the role. Your Role
We're looking for an Avionics Engineer to join our core engineering team. You'll work across the avionics stack, on the design, integration, and testing of avionics systems for lunar robotic platforms and payload systems. This includes embedded electronics, power systems, communication interfaces, and system-level reliability engineering.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical, mobility, thermal, and software teams to develop robust hardware systems capable of operating under vacuum, radiation exposure, thermal cycling, vibration, and lunar dust conditions.
This role is suited for engineers who enjoy building real hardware, debugging systems hands-on, and solving multidisciplinary engineering problems under mission-critical constraints. Your Responsibilities
Design and develop embedded electronics and avionics architectures for lunar robotic systems Work on onboard power distribution, sensor integration, communication buses, and embedded control systems Develop schematics, PCB layouts, wiring architectures, and hardware documentation Support integration of motors, actuators, cameras, IMUs, navigation systems, and payload electronics Guidance in hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and environmental testing.
Work with embedded firmware and low-level communication protocols Support EMC/EMI considerations, grounding strategies,
and power integrity analysis Collaborate with software teams on embedded interfaces and system integration
Contribute to reliability engineering and fault-tolerant system design Assist in component selection, supplier coordination, and manufacturing reviews Requirements
Must have Experience of 5+ yrs in the same domain.
Strong understanding of electronics design and embedded systems
Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, Eagle, LtSim or similar Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, UART, RS485, or Ethernet Understanding of power systems, voltage regulation, and signal integrity Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and test equipment Ability to work independently in fast-moving engineering environments Good to have
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or related field Experience with robotics, drones, automotive systems, aerospace hardware, or space systems Familiarity with micro-controllers, FPGAs, or embedded Linux platforms
Knowledge of radiation-aware or high-reliability electronics design Experience with motor controllers, battery systems, or autonomous robotic systems Exposure to environmental testing, vibration testing, or thermal-vacuum testing Familiarity with real-time systems and safety-critical architectures Experience in working with either of ECSS, ISO, NASA, GEVS or similar standards for design, development and/or verification
