Hiring : Senior Automation Tester (SDET) (58 yrs) | Playwright | API | QA Engineering

Location : Pune

We're looking for a Senior Automation Tester to own the automated quality of platforms - building and scaling our Playwright API test suites so the critical funnel is protected on every release, across the web, the React Native app, and the .NET services behind them.

What Youll Do :

1.

Own the automation framework :

- Build and scale automated coverage in Playwright (TypeScript) - page-object, data-driven, reusable - and grow our critical-path suite.
- Own the automation architecture : keep it fast, stable, and low-flake, and set the standards the rest of QA automates against.

2. API &

- Integration automation :
- Automate REST API tests (Postman / Swagger / framework-driven) and contract checks across services.
- Verify backend state in MongoDB (read-only) to assert data correctness across QA/UAT/prod.

3. CI/CD & quality gates :

- Integrate automated suites into CI (GitHub Actions) as release gates; make results and failures easy to read.
- Drive shift-left : get automation running early and continuously, not just at the end.

4. AI-first :

- Use AI (e.g.

Claude

Code, Codex etc.) to generate and maintain test code faster - with the judgment to review what it produces.

- Help test our AI features :



validate the Claude-powered assistant's outputs for accuracy and guardrails.

5. Triage & membership :

- Lead defect triage and RCA; feed preventive actions back to engineering.
- Mentor QA engineers on automation practices and raise the team's automation bar.

What You Must Have :

- 5-8 yrs in test automation / quality engineering.
- Strong Playwright (primary) with TypeScript/JavaScript
- POM and data-driven frameworks.
- API test automation (Postman / Swagger / REST).
- CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines)
- Docker-based execution.
- Cross-browser and real-device iOS/Android automation experience.
- AI-first : you use AI to build and maintain automation effectively, and review its output critically.
- Solid Agile/Scrum and microservices testing approach.

Nice to Have :

- Payments / 3DS test flows; travel / OTA / e-commerce or high-traffic domain.
- Database testing (MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
- Python or Bash/PowerShell for tooling.
- BDD (Cucumber/SpecFlow); visual regression; contract testing (Pact).
- Performance/load testing (k6, JMeter, Gatling); security basics (OWASP).
- Test data / synthetic data management
- ISTQB or Playwright certification.
