Company: Nimble Vision Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Bengaluru (HQ) — with site travel across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and NCR Experience: 4+ years Employment type: Full-time Reports to: Head of Engineering / Founders
About the role
We build AI-IoT systems for water infrastructure — borewell automation, STP/WTP control, industrial instrumentation and construction technology. Our systems run live at BWSSB (500+ borewells, 25 GLRs, 110 tankers), Ford India, Ashoka Buildcon and multiple state government deployments.
We are looking for an engineer who can own the electrical and automation side end-to-end: design the control philosophy, program the PLC, get the panel built and procured, define the process so it repeats reliably, and lead a small team executing it at site. This is a hands-on role with ownership, not a supervisory-only position.
Key responsibilitiesPLC, SCADA & control systems
Design, program, simulate and commission PLC logic (ladder / FBD / SFC) for pumping stations, STPs, dosing systems and industrial process skids
Develop HMI and SCADA screens, alarm hierarchies, trending and operator interlocks
Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication — Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus/Profinet, OPC-UA, and MQTT bridges to our cloud platform
Implement closed-loop control (PID for level, flow, pressure, DO, dosing) and tune loops at site
Integrate our NV-series IoT controllers and third-party instrumentation (flow meters, level sensors, multi-parameter analysers, energy meters)
3-phase motor & panel engineering
Design LT control panels — MCC, PCC, APFC, feeder pillars — including single-line diagrams, schematics, GA drawings and cable schedules
Select and size motor starting schemes: DOL, star-delta, soft starter, VFD (Danfoss, ABB, Schneider, Delta or equivalent)
Size cables, breakers, contactors, overload and motor protection relays; specify earthing and surge protection
Own protection and safety logic — dry run, phase failure, single phasing, over/under voltage, thermal overload, no-flow cutoff
Commission submersible pumps, blowers, aerators, agitators, screw pumps; carry out load testing, insulation testing and energy verification
Ensure compliance with IEC 61439, IS 732, CEA regulations and relevant CPCB/OCEMS requirements
Process definition & documentation
Write control philosophy documents, I/O lists, cause-and-effect matrices and sequence-of-operation documents before execution begins
Create and maintain standard templates: panel BOM formats, wiring standards, tag naming conventions, firmware/program version control
Define and enforce FAT and SAT protocols, pre-dispatch checklists, commissioning checklists and handover documents
Build O&M; manuals and train client operators and site technicians
Drive root-cause analysis on field failures and convert findings into permanent design or SOP changes
Procurement & vendor management
Prepare accurate BOMs and issue RFQs; run technical and commercial comparisons across vendors
Negotiate pricing and delivery with OEMs, panel fabricators and distributors; develop alternate sources to de-risk supply
Manage procurement through GeM and government e-procurement portals where applicable
Track order-to-delivery timelines against project schedules and escalate slippage early
Run incoming material inspection, calibration records, warranty claims and spares/inventory planning
Project & team management
Plan and track multiple concurrent site deployments — resources, schedule, material readiness, manpower
Lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and site technicians; review their drawings, code and site work
Serve as the technical point of contact for clients,
consultants and government engineers during design reviews and inspections
Own project cost against estimate and flag variances
Must-have requirements
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Mechatronics
4+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, water/wastewater treatment, or process plant electrical work
Independent programming experience on at least one major PLC platform — Siemens (TIA Portal), Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Delta or Mitsubishi
Strong practical command of 3-phase power systems, motor control and VFD parameterisation
Ability to read and produce electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or equivalent)
Proven site commissioning experience — not just design-desk experience
Willingness to travel to project sites (typically 30–40% of the time)
Working proficiency in English and Hindi or Kannada
Good to have
Exposure to STP/WTP unit processes — SBR, MBBR, MBR, aeration, sludge handling, chlorination
Experience with CPCB online monitoring compliance and pollution control board interfacing
Familiarity with IoT/edge devices, MQTT, and cloud dashboards
Basic scripting (Python) for data handling or test automation
Experience preparing technical submittals for government tenders
Prior ownership of vendor development and cost reduction initiatives
What we offer
Direct ownership of systems deployed at state-level water infrastructure scale
Flat structure with direct access to founders and rapid decision-making
Exposure across the full stack — hardware, firmware, control, cloud, and client-facing delivery
Competitive compensation with performance-linked components
While applying
Please include, in a short note:
One project where you owned the PLC program end-to-end — plant type, PLC make, I/O count, and your specific contribution The largest motor rating you have commissioned and the starting method used
Your current location, notice period and expected CTC
