Description Equifax is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to drive its technology transformation initiative. The role focuses on building and operating cloud-native AI systems at production scale, with a strong emphasis on agentic AI, MLOps, and technical leadership.

Location: Pune, India; Hybrid

Experience

- 5+ years in software engineering
- 1+ years in a dedicated AI/ML role
- 1+ years architecting and building with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agentic AI frameworks
- 2+ years with Google Cloud Platform, especially AI/ML services such as Vertex AI
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes workloads
- Experience in technical leadership and shipping complex, scalable systems

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

- Lead the architecture and deployment of cloud-native AI solutions for a large enterprise
- Design, build, and deploy AI agents for claims lifecycle automation
- Develop and refine prompts and contextual data frameworks
- Prototype and integrate foundational models, RAG techniques, and agentic frameworks
- Engineer and operate AI systems in a scalable production environment on Google Cloud Platform
- Establish reliability, versioning, monitoring, and observability practices for AI agents
- Partner with product leaders, data scientists, engineers, product managers, architects, SREs, and business partners
- Define technical strategy, software roadmaps, and architectural decisions




- Lead troubleshooting for production and customer issues
- Participate in agile activities including Sprint Planning and Retrospectives
- Use AI code-assist tools to accelerate development, documentation, testing, and observability
- Build, manage, and mentor a cross-functional team of software, quality, and reliability engineers
- Define and report engineering metrics such as SLA, SLO, and SLI
- Create and deliver technical presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with security, quality, and financial operations best practices
- Drive up-to-date technical documentation including support documentation, end-user documentation, and run books
- Lead with a data- and metrics-driven mindset focused on productive solutions
- Architect and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and performant APIs, microservices, and PaaS/SaaS platforms
- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents on Google Cloud Platform
- Collaborate effectively with UI teams using front-end technologies
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement

Nice To Have

- Experience with generative AI models such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, or Llama
- Experience creating and deploying AI agents to production environments
- Strong ability to tackle ambiguous, complex technical challenges
- Passion for building reliable, production-ready software




- Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex ideas clearly
