Description
- Position Summary:
The Data scientist will be responsible for using their analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets to support the organization in decision making, driven by data.
They will drive operational excellence & support to deliver a fact based 30 month demand plan.
They will coordinate cross-functional research activities and reconcile significant variances for its reduction and work on mitigation actions deployment and execution.
They will ensure that the monthly forecast submission deadlines and allied reports are respected and enhanced where needed.
- Key Job Areas of Responsibilities
Data Science
Data Cleaning and Preparation: Ensuring data quality by cleaning and transforming it into a usable format.
Analysis and Interpretation: Using statistical, mathematical, and computational techniques to analyze data.
Model Building, Maintaining, & Experimentation: Creating predictive models and algorithms to solve business problems.
Maintain and training Demand Planning team on Planning tools related to data science, machine learning & algorithm usage & fine tuning (ie: o9)
Conceive, plan and prioritize data projects
Reporting: Presenting findings through reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
Demand Management & Accuracy
Weekly check MAPE and BIAS at PN level;
One Team: Discuss and align assumptions with Demand Planning Teams & CM at required & meaningful level.
Continuous Improvements: Follow defined standards and guidelines. Propose and implement improvements.
Check and address with improvement top offenders
Internal alignment and collaboration* GEM deployment and its substance for business process excellence
Drive annual SDP process and coordinate and lead key project through six sigma principles
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Desk Specialist, Sales Team, Marketing Team,
Industry Insight team to support the development of the demand forecast and manage demand proactively
Ensure adherence to standard Data Management. Demand planning, PIPO, NPI process to meet assigned functional KPIs viz. MAPE, BIAS, Inventory, E&O;, Premium Freight
Lead, support & report statistical analysis on demand forecast and related KPIs
- Education / Qualifications
Post Graduate & / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics and Business Administration, Engineering or related areas required
- Experience
Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in demand planning or customer service, sales and supply chain
Minimum 5 + years excperience in Data science with good knowledge on the data science lifecycle
Previous experience in the automotive industry preferred (OEM, Tier-I)
- Key Skills and Knowledge
English proficiency level; Other European language proficiency added advantage
Proficiency in Programming, ie Python, R, SQL
Statistical, probability & quantitative analytics
Machine learning proficiency, working knowledge of algorithms and models for predictive analytics
ERP tools viz o9, SAP skills required and other software related to data management, demand management preferred
Experienced with MS Office (Excel advanced, PowerPoint, PowerBi etc.)
Solid Data visualition capabilities, Presentation and communication skills
Preferred - Six Sigma Green Belt Certification / equivalent certification
