Assistant Manager-KDNI Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP Tax Technology Consultant to join our dynamic team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SA-based tax solutions for our clients' projects, with a specific focus on the regulatory landscapes of Canada, US and various European countries. This role requires deep expertise in SAP Finance (FI), strong understanding of FI-SD (Sales and Distribution) and FI-MM (Materials Management) integration points related to tax, and hands-on experience with leading tax engines such as OneSource.
A thorough knowledge of indirect tax principles (GST/HST/PST in Canada, Sales and Use tax in US and VAT in Europe) and a proven ability to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions are crucial for success in this role. Roles &
responsibilities • Manage and execute all phases of tax technology projects, including requirements gathering, blueprinting, realization, testing (unit, integration, and user acceptance), go-live, and post-implementation support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, procurement, and IT, to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, and training materials.
- Develop and configure SAP FI, FI-SD, and FI-MM Indirect Tax integration config to ensure accurate tax determination, calculation, and reporting for Canadian, US and European indirect taxes (VAT).
- Customize and maintain SAP tax condition records, procedures, and account determinations.
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) and external tax engines, including data mapping, interface monitoring, and troubleshooting. Mandatory functional skills • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA, with a strong emphasis on tax configuration and determination.
- Proven experience with FI-SD and FI-MM integration points relevant to tax determination and posting (e.g., pricing procedures, purchase order processing, invoicing).
- Demonstrable experience with at least one major third-party tax engine (OneSource, etc.), including implementation, integration, and support.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of indirect tax principles and processes, including Canadian GST/HST/PST, Sales & Use tax and European VAT. Preferred technical & functional skills • Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - Financial Accounting).
- Tax engine experience and certification.
- Experience in e-Invoicing and e-Reporting tools like SAP DRC/ Sovos/ Pagero like tools is a plus. Key behavioural attributes/requirements • Should be a good team player with learner's mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
