Role-Senior SAP Technical Delivery Lead - Finance, Banking & Taxation

Must-Have**
15+ years of overall SAP experience
Solid techno‑functional understanding of core SAP modules (e.g., FI, MM, SD, HR, PP – depending on landscape).
Proven experience leading application support and enhancement engagements.
Strong experience in incident, problem, change, and release management.
Working knowledge of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA architectures.
Deep, hands-on expertise in SAP Finance (FI/CO) with the ability to configure, troubleshoot and optimise across the full spectrum of financial accounting and management accounting processes
Extensive knowledge of SAP Banking Integration including host-to-host connectivity, payment processing, bank statement reconciliation, SWIFT/SEPA standards and treasury interfaces
Strong domain expertise in global taxation — GST, VAT, withholding tax, E-Invoicing and statutory compliance — with direct experience implementing solutions across multiple jurisdictions
Proven solution architecture capability — ability to design end-to-end SAP solutions that are scalable, compliant and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and integration patterns
Solid experience with SAP S/4HANA — both greenfield and migration scenarios — including an understanding of S/4HANA Finance simplifications, Universal Journal and embedded analytics
Strong integration architecture experience spanning SAP and non-SAP systems including banking platforms, tax authority interfaces, middleware layers and third-party financial applications
Proven ability to lead SAP delivery teams and manage day-to-day operational delivery across functional, technical and integration workstreams with accountability for quality and timelines
Ability to engage confidently with CFOs, Finance Directors and senior business stakeholders, translating complex SAP and domain concepts into explicit business language
Strong knowledge of financial processes end-to-end — procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, treasury and compliance — and how they are realised within the SAP ecosystem
Good-to-Have
Exposure to SAP S/4HANA migrations or upgrades.
Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and monitoring tools.
ITIL / PMP / Prince2 / Agile certifications.
Experience in global delivery and multi‑vendor environments. Expectations from the Role SAP Solution Architecture
Own the end-to-end solution architecture across SAP Finance,
Banking and Taxation — designing solutions that are technically sound, functionally complete and aligned with business and compliance requirements
Define integration architecture between SAP and external systems including banking platforms, tax authority interfaces, payment hubs and third-party financial applications — selecting appropriate patterns and middleware based on context
Review and validate functional and technical designs produced by the delivery team, ensuring quality, consistency and adherence to SAP best practices and enterprise architecture standards
Lead solution design workshops and architecture reviews with business stakeholders and technical teams, acting as the primary point of accountability for the SAP solution
SAP Delivery Leadership and Operations
Lead day-to-day delivery across SAP projects and operational workstreams, managing functional consultants, technical developers and integration specialists as a cohesive delivery unit
Own delivery quality — ensuring that configuration, development, testing and documentation meet the standards expected for production-grade enterprise solutions
Manage incidents, change requests and escalations within the SAP landscape, ensuring timely resolution and proper root cause analysis and preventive action
Conduct regular delivery reviews, module-level quality checks and service improvement planning, reporting progress and risk to programme leadership and business stakeholders
SAP Finance — Functional Depth
Provide deep hands-on expertise across SAP FI/CO including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting and Internal Orders
Support and govern period-end and year-end close processes within SAP, ensuring all financial postings, reconciliations and statutory reports are accurate and delivered on time
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes supported by SAP, identifying configuration enhancements, automation opportunities and reporting improvements that reduce manual effort and improve data quality
Banking Integration and Treasury
Lead the design, delivery and ongoing operation of bank connectivity solutions — including host-to-host, SWIFT integration, payment factories and multi-bank reconciliation — ensuring reliability, security and auditability
Oversee SAP Treasury and Cash Management implementations,
covering cash positioning, bank account management, liquidity forecasting and in-house banking where applicable
Manage relationships with banking partners and treasury teams on integration matters, resolving connectivity, format and compliance issues as they arise in live operations
Taxation and Statutory Compliance
Own the SAP tax configuration landscape — GST, VAT, withholding tax, E-Invoicing and country-specific statutory requirements — ensuring solutions remain compliant as regulations evolve
Work closely with tax and legal teams to understand regulatory changes and translate them into SAP configuration changes with appropriate controls, testing and documentation
Support audit and statutory reporting processes, providing technical and functional expertise on SAP-driven compliance outputs and ensuring audit trail integrity across the tax landscape
Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory
Act as the primary SAP domain expert and trusted advisor for Finance, Treasury and Tax leadership — providing clear, credible guidance on what SAP can and cannot do and how best to use its capabilities
Facilitate business and technical workshops, solution reviews and design sign-off sessions, ensuring stakeholders are well informed and aligned before delivery proceeds
Manage expectations proactively — communicating clearly on scope, timelines, risks and constraints in language that is accessible to non-technical finance audiences
Governance, Quality and Continuous Improvement
Establish and maintain delivery governance standards including change control, incident management, SLA tracking and release management across the SAP landscape
Define and monitor KPIs for SAP delivery and operations, using data to drive service improvement and demonstrate value to the business
Champion SAP best practices, ensure adherence to development and configuration standards, and identify opportunities to leverage new SAP capabilities for operational efficiency and cost reduction
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Relevant SAP or project management certifications preferred.
MBA in Finance or Strategy from a recognized institution
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related field as an alternative to professional qualification
