Job Summary The role involves driving technical sales of pressing machines by understanding customer needs, proposing suitable machine solutions, and managing proposals. It includes coordinating project execution with internal teams, supporting after-sales service, and developing new business opportunities while achieving sales targets.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1.
Technical
Sales & Customer Engagement
Understand customer needs, applications, production requirements, and pain points related to pressing operations.
Provide technical guidance on machine specifications—tonnage, stroke length, daylight, speed, tooling requirements, automation options, and safety features.
Conduct pre-sales technical presentations, machine demos, and plant visits.
Translate customer requirements into feasible technical solutions, coordinating with design and engineering teams.
Suggest customization options for special-purpose presses or integration with conveyors, robotics, or automation systems.

Costing & Proposal Development
Prepare accurate technical-commercial offers, including machine configuration, pricing, scope of supply, and timelines.
Develop cost estimates in collaboration with production, procurement, and engineering.
Create detailed proposals, GA drawings, and BOQs when required.
Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual points with customers. 3.
Project
Coordination & Order Execution Support
Act as the single point of contact between the customer and internal teams during the project lifecycle.
Ensure timely release of drawings, documentation, and customer approvals.
Follow up with production and assembly teams on manufacturing status and delivery timelines.
Support in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) scheduling and customer visits. Coordinate shipment, installation, and commissioning activities with service teams. 4.
Market
Development & Lead Generation
Identify new customers, industries, and applications for pressing machines (automotive, sheet metal, fabrication, rubber, plastics, etc.).
Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, pricing, and new technologies.
Generate, qualify, and track leads through CRM tools.
Expand business opportunities for customized presses, automation systems, and retrofit services. 5.
Customer Relationship
Management
Build long-term relationships with OEMs, end users, integrators, and consultants.
Ensure high customer satisfaction through consistent follow-ups and post-sales support.
Maintain records of all interactions, complaints, and feedback.
Promote AMCs, spare parts, machine upgrades, and service contracts. 6.
Technical
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and manage documents such as technical datasheets, machine manuals, and compliance certificates.
Ensure machines meet industry standards (ISO, CE, safety norms).
Support creation of drawings, layouts, and application notes for customers.
- After-Sales Support (Commercial & Technical)
Provide guidance for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Support customers with spare parts identification, maintenance schedules, and training requirements.
Coordinate warranty claims or service escalations with internal teams. 8.
Internal
Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, design, production, service, procurement, and quality teams.
Provide real-time feedback from the market for product improvements.
Support R&D; with information on customer challenges and current requirements. 9.
Sales Target
Achievement & Reporting
Meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets for machines, spares, and services.
Maintain accurate sales pipelines and forecasts.
Prepare regular reports on market visits, competitor activity, and customer opportunities.
Skills Required: 1. Strong technical knowledge of pressing machines and automation.
