About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining workplace safety standards to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The role involves conducting safety inspections, ensuring statutory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing facility.
Qualification
Educational Qualification
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
Safety Qualification
One or more of the following:
- Diploma in Industrial Safety • Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety • NEBOSH • IOSH Managing Safely • OSHA Certification Experience Required:
3–5 years of relevant experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) within a manufacturing unit.
Location
Job location as per company requirements (site visits within India, if required).
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Conduct daily workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure proper use and compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across the facility.
- Issue, review, and verify Permit to Work (PTW) for hazardous activities.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and perform root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with company HSE standards.
- Maintain statutory safety records, inspection reports, training records, and incident documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations and company safety requirements.
- Participate in Customer Safety Management (CSM)
audits and support audit activities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for CSM and other internal/external safety audits.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and evacuation exercises.
- Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety and minimize operational risks.
- Support management in achieving organizational safety objectives and maintaining a zero-incident culture.
