Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to support the design, development, simulation, integration, commissioning, and production ramp-up of robotic automation systems within advanced battery manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on expertise in KUKA, FANUC, and Staubli robotics, offline programming and simulation tools, PLC integration, robot safety systems, vision systems, and industrial automation technologies.

The role involves collaborating with Automation, Process, Vision, MES, SCADA, Manufacturing, IT/OT, and Supplier teams to ensure robotic systems are safely deployed, fully integrated, and optimized for high-volume production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Robotics Design & Technical Review

- Participate in robotic cell design reviews with OEMs and system integrators.
- Review robot layouts, tooling concepts, gripper designs, safety zones, and maintainability requirements.
- Validate robotic system designs against technical, safety, and operational standards.
- Support robotic automation architecture and supplier deliverables review.

Robot Programming & Simulation
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot robot programs for KUKA, FANUC, and Staubli robots.
- Utilize KUKA.Sim, WorkVisual, FANUC ROBOGUIDE, and Process Simulate for:
- Offline Programming (OLP)
- Reach and collision studies
- Cycle time validation
- Robot path optimization

- Validate robotic sequences before FAT and commissioning.

System Integration
- Integrate robots with:
- PLCs
- SCADA/HMI systems
- MES platforms
- Vision inspection systems
- AGVs and Conveyors
- Sensors and End-of-Arm Tooling

- Define and validate robot-to-PLC handshaking, alarms, interlocks, and fault recovery logic.




- Support traceability and production data collection requirements.

Robot Safety & Compliance
- Configure and validate robot safety systems including:
- KUKA Safe Operation
- FANUC DCS
- Staubli CS9 Safety
- SafeMove
- Cubic-S

- Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 10218 and other applicable machine safety standards.

FAT, SAT & Commissioning
- Prepare and review FAT/SAT protocols and acceptance criteria.
- Execute factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
- Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production prove-out activities.
- Resolve robotic performance, communication, and integration issues.

Vendor & Project Coordination
- Coordinate activities with OEMs, automation suppliers, and system integrators.
- Track technical actions, risks, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including:
- Automation
- Manufacturing
- Process Engineering
- MES/SCADA
- Vision Systems
- IT/OT

Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain:
- Robot specifications
- IO lists
- Safety documentation
- FAT/SAT reports
- Commissioning records
- Training manuals

- Conduct operator and maintenance team training.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Control Systems, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in industrial robotics and automation.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Strong background in robotic commissioning and production support.
- Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and cross-functional engineering teams.
