Position Summary The RMC Plant In-Charge is responsible for the complete operation and management of the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant. The role includes planning production, ensuring quality control, managing manpower, coordinating dispatches, maintaining machinery, ensuring safety compliance, controlling inventory, and achieving production targets while maintaining customer satisfaction.
The Plant In-Charge acts as the overall operational head of the RMC Plant and is accountable for productivity, quality, safety, and profitability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Plant Operations
- Manage complete day-to-day plant operations.
- Ensure smooth functioning of batching plant equipment.
- Supervise production activities according to daily schedules.
- Ensure uninterrupted concrete production.
- Plan daily production based on customer orders.
- Monitor plant performance and productivity.
- Minimize production downtime.
- Ensure proper utilization of plant capacity.
- Coordinate all plant departments effectively.
1. Production Planning
- Prepare daily production schedules.
- Allocate resources according to production requirements.
- Monitor hourly production targets.
- Ensure timely completion of production orders.
- Optimize plant productivity.
- Monitor batching accuracy.
- Ensure correct mix design implementation.
1. Quality Control Coordination
- Coordinate with the QC Engineer and Laboratory.
- Ensure production strictly follows approved mix designs.
- Verify raw material quality before production.
- Monitor slump tests and compressive strength results.
- Ensure IS standards and company quality procedures are followed.
- Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure zero compromise on concrete quality.
1. Dispatch Management
- Coordinate with the Dispatch Department.
- Plan timely dispatch of Transit Mixers.
- Ensure delivery schedules are met.
- Minimize waiting time of vehicles.
- Coordinate with pump operators and site engineers.
- Track dispatch status throughout the day.
- Resolve dispatch-related issues promptly.
1. Maintenance Management
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of plant machinery.
- Ensure regular servicing of batching plant equipment.
- Monitor wear and tear of plant components.
- Coordinate breakdown maintenance.
- Maintain minimum downtime.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts.
- Monitor equipment efficiency.
1. Raw Material Management
Monitor daily stock levels of:
- Cement
- Fly Ash
- GGBS
- Sand
- Coarse Aggregates
- Water
- Chemical Admixtures
- Diesel
- Lubricants
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining minimum stock levels.
- Planning material requirements.
- Coordinating with the Purchase Department.
- Avoiding production interruptions due to material shortages.
- Reducing material wastage.
1. Inventory Control
- Maintain daily inventory records.
- Monitor material consumption.
- Verify stock reconciliation.
- Control wastage and pilferage.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
- Ensure accurate inventory reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional certification in RMC Plant Operations is an advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant Operations.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or Plant In-Charge role.

Authority The Plant In-Charge is authorized to:
- Allocate manpower and shifts.
- Plan daily production.
- Coordinate dispatch schedules.
- Recommend maintenance shutdowns.
- Raise purchase requisitions for plant requirements.
- Enforce safety and operational discipline.
- Recommend training, rewards, and disciplinary actions for plant personnel.
- Stop production if quality or safety standards are at risk.
Working Hours
- Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (or as per operational requirements)
- Weekly Off: Sunday (subject to production requirements)
- The position may require extended hours or emergency support to meet production and customer delivery commitments.
Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per hour
