Role & responsibilities

Emergency Medical & Occupational Care

- Provide urgent and emergency medical response for work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses, including triage, assessment, stabilization, and treatment within the paramedic scope of practice.
- Manage the on-site medical clinic, ensuring a comfortable, clean, and well-stocked environment. Maintain medical equipment, medications, and supplies.
- Coordinate with local EMS for patient transport or medical evacuations, acting as a liaison between the site and off-site medical providers.
- Participate in emergency drills and rescue exercises; for projects with high-risk activities (e.g., confined spaces), you may serve as a member of the onsite rescue team.

Safety & Prevention
- Conduct regular "Site Checks" to identify potential hazards and observe work practices, engaging with workers to reinforce safe behaviours.
- Support site safety initiatives by participating in risk assessments, incident reporting, and safety observations.
- Lead health and wellness initiatives, such as stretching exercises, hydration education, and health screenings to prevent injuries.

Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records & ESICs using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and ensure all documentation meets OSHA and company compliance standards.
- Assist with the workers' compensation process, including post-injury follow-up and return-to-work coordination.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screenings for pre-employment, post-incident,



and other compliance requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

- Active Paramedic License: Must hold a valid Paramedic certification/licensure in the state of practice (National Registry accepted).
- Current Certifications: Valid BLS and ACLS certifications. Trauma certifications like PHTLS are preferred.
- Emergency Experience: Min. of 1-2 years of full-time experience in emergency medical response.

Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, capable of working autonomously in a remote or industrial setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with workers, management, and external agencies.
- Physical ability to walk/stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and respond quickly across a dynamic work workplace.
- Proficiency with computers and medical record software.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience on construction, industrial, or pipeline projects.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Instructor certifications for CPR/First Aid.
- Technical Rescue Certifications (Confined Space, Rope Rescue, etc.).

Work Environment
- This position is primarily based outdoors on an active construction site and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and physical hazards.
- Work schedules may be extended, including 1012-hour shifts and occasional weekend work, depending on project phase and requirements.
