Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Pune, India | Type: Full-Time | Reporting to : WBS - Quality Lead

Role Overview The Quality Engineer (IMDS/CDX) is responsible for managing material compliance activities and add-hoc requests for automotive and industrial products, ensuring adherence to global regulatory requirements such as REACH, RoHS, ELV, Prop65, TSCA, SCIP, and customer-specific compliance mandates. The role focuses on accurate submission, validation, and maintenance of data within the International Material Data System (IMDS) and Compliance Data Exchange (CDX) while collaborating with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, review, and submit IMDS entries as per customer-specific requirements
- Validate supplier IMDS submissions for correctness, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Track and manage IMDS request queues, follow up with suppliers for material declarations, and close open items on time.
- Analyze materials, components, and substances to ensure compliance with ELV, REACH SVHC, and global reporting requirements.
- Support IMDS build-up for new product launches (NPI/APQP).
- Prepare and upload product declarations through Compliance Data Exchange (CDX).




- Ensure compliance data aligns with customer/industry guidelines
- Manage CDX communication with suppliers and resolve data inconsistency issues.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for compliance reporting.
- Maintain documentation for all compliance submissions and approvals.
- Support PPAP/APQP quality processes by providing material compliance documentation.
- Integration of customer feedback into quality improvement

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Automobile Engineering
- 3-5 years of strong experience in quality with hands-on experience in IMDS and CDX processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-handling skills (global suppliers/customers).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail..
- Understanding of product environmental compliance strategy.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP/P21
- Robust communication and reporting skills

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to APQP/PPAP documentation.
- Critical thinking and solution-based approach
- Knowledge about fasteners products/c-parts
- Cross-cultural communication skills
