Manesar

We don't want someone who finds faults. We want someone who makes them stop happening. Dimensions is a bespoke luxury furniture house — our own design studio in Delhi, our own showroom on MG Road, and our own factory at IMT Manesar with about 120 people on the floor.

Nothing is bought in and marked up. Every piece is drawn here and built here, to the customer's size, stone, fabric and finish. Our pieces go into homes where somebody runs a hand along the edge of a drawer before they pay for it.

That is the standard we are protecting. WHY THIS JOB IS DIFFERENT FROM MOST QC JOBS Most quality people we meet can tell us a piece is bad. Far fewer can tell us why it went bad and what to change so it stops.

That second thing is the job. "Polish is not positive" is not a finding. "Orange peel on dark PU, worst on Friday afternoons, because gun pressure drops when three guns run off one compressor" — that is a finding, and it comes with a fix attached. Every problem you bring us should arrive with a proposed solution. Then you run the trial, prove it worked with before-and-after numbers, and write it into an SOP so it survives.

If you have spent years filling inspection reports that nobody acted on, this will be a different kind of job. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Solving

- Root-cause analysis on recurring defects across polish, veneer, solid wood, carcass, upholstery, metal and stone
- Proposing the fix, running the trial, proving it held
- Turning fixes into SOPs, work instructions, jigs, templates and go/no-go gauges — so the error becomes hard to repeat
- A live CAPA log reviewed weekly with the Plant Head
- Pareto the defect data and attack the top three properly,

rather than chasing all of it Inspecting
- Incoming material — plywood, veneer, solid wood, hardware, fabric, foam, stone, metal — rejected at the gate with photographs, and vendor defect data fed back
- Moisture content on solid wood and panels. Wood that cracks at the customer's home failed here first
- Stage gates: post-cutting, post-carcass, veneer, pre-polish, post-polish, post-upholstery, hardware fitment, pre-packing
- Every piece against the drawing, the BOM and the finish spec — and on custom orders, against the customer's signed brief
- First-off sign-off on every new model
- Final inspection and photographs before dispatch Reporting
- Defects logged by type, stage and department
- Rework tracked in rupees
- A weekly report that says what the top three problems are and what you are doing about them WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 6–12 years in quality in furniture, modular, wood-based or interior fit-out manufacturing
- Enough hands-on process knowledge to propose a fix credibly — you cannot correct a spray booth if you have never sprayed. We will test this in the interview
- Real command of finish defects and their causes: PU/NC/melamine polish, veneer pressing, wood movement and moisture, hardware fitment, upholstery
- Root-cause tools used in practice,

not on a certificate — 5-why, fishbone, Pareto, CAPA
- Able to read a production drawing, a BOM and a finish spec
- Comfortable with a moisture meter, vernier, steel rule, square and feeler gauge
- Able to write a clear SOP and keep records in a system
- Fluent Hindi; enough English to write a clear report
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production or a wood/furniture qualification is a plus — what you can diagnose matters more than the certificate
- Living within reach of IMT Manesar, or willing to relocate TWO THINGS WE WILL BE STRAIGHT ABOUT You will have to hold the line. Rejecting work makes you unpopular, and sometimes the supervisor whose piece you stopped will be senior to you. If you sign off work to keep the peace, this does not work. But stopping a piece is where your job starts. Anyone can reject. We are paying for the person who then walks into the polish department and fixes the reason.

WHAT WE OFFER • Salary matched to what you actually bring — tell us your expectation

- A genuine mandate: you are building the quality function here, not filling in a form
- Direct access to the Plant Head and the owner — your fixes get decided in a day, not a quarter
- A product worth being strict about TO APPLY Send your CV to [email protected] with the subject "Quality In-charge — Manesar". Tell us about one recurring defect you eliminated — what was going wrong, what you changed, and how you knew it stayed fixed. That will tell us more than the CV will.
