Position: QHSE Officer

Department: Ship Management: QHSE

Location: Mumbai

Reporting To: Fleet Manager / DPA

Purpose of the Role:

To support the company in maintaining Safety Management System (SMS), QHSE compliance, and marine procurement activities , ensuring compliance with ISM Code, ISPS Code, Flag State requirements, and company policies for vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. QHSE / Safety Management

- Assist in maintaining and updating the Safety Management System (SMS) documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISM Code, ISPS Code, and Flag State regulations .
- Monitor QHSE documentation and certification records for vessels.
- Support preparation for internal audits, external audits, and Flag/Class inspections .
- Maintain records for PMS, permits, safety reports, and incident reports .
- Assist in preparing risk assessments, safety procedures, and safety circulars .
- Monitor vessel compliance with safety drills, inspections, and statutory requirements .

2. Documentation & System Management





- Update and maintain records in PMS software (e.g., MESPAS, etc.) .
- Maintain audit records, compliance documentation, and certificates .
- Assist in preparation of management reports and compliance summaries .

4. Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with vessels, technical managers, agents, and suppliers .
- Participate in technical, QHSE, and operational meetings .
- Ensure effective communication between ship and shore offices .

Experience

- Fresher – 2 nd Officer/Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in QHSE, marine operations within the shipping industry.

Skills & Competencies:

- Knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS Code, Cargo Operation and maritime regulations .
- Experience with marine procurement and supplier management .
- Familiarity with PMS / ship management software (MESPAS) .
- Solid documentation, coordination, and communication skills .
- Ability to work in operational environment .
