Day to day:

Insight Global is seeking Python Engineers to join a leading financial institution in India as part of a strategic cloud transformation initiative. The successful candidate will join the engineering team responsible for migrating a business-critical in-house batch scheduling application from an on-premises environment to AWS.

This role will focus on analysing and migrating scheduler workloads, modernising application components, supporting cloud deployment activities, validating migrated jobs and workflows, and improving automation across the platform. The engineer will work closely with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to ensure a seamless transition to AWS while maintaining reliability, performance, and operational stability.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Python development experience, a solid understanding of batch processing and scheduling concepts, experience working within Linux environments, and exposure to cloud migration projects and CI/CD delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the migration of a business-critical in-house batch scheduling platform from on-premises infrastructure to AWS.
- Analyse scheduler workloads, job dependencies, and runtime configurations to ensure successful cloud migration and validation.
- Develop and enhance Python-based services, APIs, and automation tools supporting the scheduling platform.
- Troubleshoot application, deployment,



and runtime issues across Linux and AWS environments.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to plan, test, and execute migration activities.
- Support CI/CD processes, deployment automation, and release activities using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
- Validate migrated workloads, perform performance tuning, and ensure operational stability in AWS.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, migration runbooks, and operational best practices.

Must haves:

- 3-5+ years of hands-on solid programming skills in Python with proficiency in object-oriented design principles, debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Strong Unix/Linux fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot application, deployment, environment and runtime issues.
- Strong experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, or similar tools supporting automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Practical understanding of on-prem to cloud migration strategies, workload assessment, testing, cutover, and post-migration validation.
- Experience with batch scheduling platforms such as Autosys, Control-M, Cron, or equivalent workflow orchestration tools.
- Understanding of AWS cloud services
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience with SDLC deployments (Ex: Git, Jenkins)
