Role Description The PYP & MYP Makerspace Facilitator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. The facilitator designs and delivers hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for students in the PYP and MYP, using the makerspace to integrate design thinking, STEM, and creativity with IB transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary units.

Responsibilities include planning and co-teaching projects with homeroom and subject teachers, guiding students in safe and appropriate use of tools and materials, and supporting prototyping, experimentation, and problem-solving. The role involves managing makerspace resources, maintaining equipment, and establishing safety protocols and routines. The facilitator also documents learning, contributes to curriculum planning, supports school events and exhibitions,



and engages in ongoing professional development aligned with IB philosophy and TSRA’s values.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in designing and facilitating hands-on, project-based learning, including experience with makerspaces, STEM activities, or design labs.

Candidates should possess skills in IB-aligned pedagogy, such as inquiry-based teaching, student agency, and transdisciplinary or interdisciplinary planning within PYP and/or MYP.

Candidates should possess skills in tool and technology use, such as basic electronics, robotics kits, digital fabrication tools (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters), or easy coding platforms appropriate for school settings.

Candidates should possess skills in classroom management, learner support, and creating safe, inclusive environments where students feel confident to experiment and take risks.

Candidates should possess skills in collaboration and communication, including the ability to co-plan with teachers, communicate with families when needed, and document student learning clearly.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Design, Science, or a related field; formal training or experience in IB PYP/MYP is highly beneficial.

Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational or co-curricular settings, preferably in international or progressive schools.
