Job Role: PYP Coordinator (International Baccalaureate)

Location: Lucknow Kunskapsskolan School, Lucknow is an IB continuum school seeking a passionate and dynamic PYP Coordinator to lead the implementation and continuous development of the IB Primary Years Programme. The ideal candidate will be an experienced PYP educator with strong pedagogical knowledge, collaborative leadership skills, and a commitment to inquiry-based learning.

Key Responsibilities Programme Leadership

Lead the effective implementation and continuous enhancement of the IB Primary Years Programme across the school.

Ensure alignment of teaching and learning practices with IB standards and practices.

Foster a culture of inquiry, concept-based learning, international-mindedness, and student agency.

Support the school's strategic vision for the growth and development of the PYP.

Curriculum

Development

Guide teachers in collaborative planning, curriculum mapping, and unit planning.

Ensure the Programme of Inquiry (POI) is coherent, balanced, and aligned across grade levels.

Monitor curriculum implementation and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Encourage innovative teaching practices and the integration of ATL Skills and learner profile attributes. Teaching & Learning

Coach and mentor teachers to strengthen inquiry-based pedagogy and assessment practices.

Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.

Promote differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs.





Facilitate reflective practices and collaborative planning meetings. Assessment & Student Achievement

Ensure effective implementation of formative and summative assessment practices.

Guide teachers in using assessment data to improve student learning outcomes.

Monitor student progress and support interventions where required.

Maintain high standards of academic quality and programme integrity.

Professional

Development

Plan and facilitate professional learning sessions for faculty.

Mentor new teachers in understanding and implementing the PYP philosophy.

Encourage continuous career development and participation in IB workshops.

Build a collaborative learning culture among staff. IB Compliance & Accreditation

Lead the school through IB authorization, evaluation, and verification processes as applicable.

Maintain documentation required by the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Ensure compliance with IB Programme Standards and Practices.

Liaise with the IB Organization and coordinate required programme documentation. Collaboration

Work closely with the Head of School, Academic Leadership Team, and teachers to ensure seamless programme implementation.

Collaborate with coordinators of other programmes (where applicable) to ensure curriculum continuity.

Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and academic planning.

Qualifications & Experience

Master's & Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject.

B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.

IB PYP professional development/workshop certification preferred.

Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience in an IB PYP school.

At least 2–3 years of experience as a PYP Coordinator is preferred.

Experienced PYP Teachers demonstrating leadership potential and readiness to transition into a coordinator role are encouraged to apply.
