Role & responsibilities

-Develop and re-align organizational sourcing strategy to business objectives

- Monitor purchase costs regularly and ensure costs are maintained as per the defined norms.
- Carry out regular price negotiations with vendors to optimize input costs
- Regularly invite quotations from various vendors for bought out parts and raw material
- Ensure quality of product supplied from vendors is as per defined standards through regular

vendor audits in coordination with quality function
- Monitor vendor quality product reports and take corrective action if required in coordination with

quality
- Ensure development of pipeline of vendors to hedge against failure of supply from preferred

vendor
- Manage and develop vendor relations
- Ensure dispatch of purchase orders to accounts is carried out as per defined Service Level

Agreement for timely payments to vendors
- Coordinate with Engineering & R&D; and process engineering for recent component development

and ensure identification of supplier for the same




- Ensure monitoring and management of store inventory levels.
- Ensure deployment of 5s in the purchase function
- Initiate kaizen projects as per need to improve departmental functioning and bring in efficiencies
- Ensure preparation of MIS report as per requirements
- Ensure development of subordinates in the essential skills required to perform the job
- Ensure employee grievance are handled with sensitivity and resolved as per defined standards
- Monitor subordinate performance and provide constructive feedback regularly to direct reporting

subordinates and ensure their development

- Developing and aligning sourcing strategies with business goals
- Driving cost optimization and negotiation with vendors
- Managing RFQs/RFPs and supplier selection processes
- Building contingency supplier pipelines (risk mitigation mindset)
