Position: Technical Purchase Executive

Location: CTM, Ahmedabad

Experience: 2-8 years

Work Timing: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM ( Monday to Saturday)

Salary: 25000-50000/Month

Job Summary The Technical Purchase Executive is responsible for procuring raw materials, precision components, machining services, tools, consumables, packaging materials, and other technical items required for the manufacturing of orthopedic implants and surgical instruments. The role ensures timely procurement while maintaining quality, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted production.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Sourcing

- Source and procure raw materials such as Medical Grade Stainless Steel (SS 316L), Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V ELI), PEEK, UHMWPE, and other approved materials.
- Purchase CNC machining tools, cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing consumables.
- Procure surgical instrument components, packaging materials, labels, and sterilization accessories.
- Develop and maintain qualified suppliers for orthopedic manufacturing requirements.
- Obtain quotations, conduct technical and commercial comparisons, and negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order execution until delivery.

Vendor Management
- Evaluate and approve suppliers in coordination with QA/RA departments.
- Monitor supplier quality,



delivery performance, and responsiveness.
- Coordinate supplier audits and corrective actions when required.
- Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.

Inventory & Production Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA, QC, R&D;, and Stores to understand procurement requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of critical materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely procurement.
- Follow up on delayed deliveries to avoid production stoppages.

Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain purchase records, vendor documentation, and procurement reports.
- Ensure procurement complies with ISO 13485, GMP, and applicable medical device regulatory requirements.
- Verify supplier documents including Material Test Certificates (MTC), Certificates of Analysis (COA), and compliance certificates.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.

Cost Optimization
- Identify alternate qualified suppliers without compromising quality.
- Conduct cost analysis and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Monitor market trends for metals, machining services, and industrial consumables.

Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial,



or Biomedical Engineering.

Experience
- 2–8 years of experience in technical purchasing within orthopedic implants, medical devices, precision engineering, CNC machining, or regulated manufacturing industries.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic implant manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of CNC machining, precision engineering, and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with medical-grade raw materials and surgical instrument manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, GMP, and medical device procurement requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Knowledge
- Import procurement and customs documentation.
- Supplier qualification and vendor audits.
