Himatnagar
Location: Himatnagar or Mehsana, Gujarat (Field-Based) Employment Type: Contractual Role
Start Date: September – October 2026
Experience: 3–5 Years
Languages: Gujarati, Hindi, and English — fluency required in all three About the Role
We are looking for a Project Manager to be based in Himatnagar or Mehsana, Gujarat, operating and working with large organizations in the agriculture and farming sector.
This is an equally strategic and operational role — you will manage schedules, coordinate field activities, handle day-to-day operations, and ensure the programme runs smoothly on the ground. The role is about organisation skills, reliable follow-through, and clear communication — not domain expertise. The right person for this role is structured, dependable, fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and English, and comfortable operating in a field setting across Gujarat.
If you are someone who keeps complex programmes on track, communicates well at every level, and takes full ownership of outcomes — we would like to hear from you. What You’ll Do Calendar & Schedule Management
- Own the programme calendar — build, maintain, and update the schedule for the full season so every activity happens at the right place on the right day.
- Plan field visits and activities in advance, coordinating across teams and locations to avoid gaps and conflicts in the schedule.
- Track programme progress against the season plan and proactively flag any slippage.
Field
Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate field activities end-to-end — brief teams before each visit, confirm availability in advance, and ensure activities are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Ensure the flow of field data and outputs — information is captured accurately and reaches the programme team when needed.
- Coordinate with field staff and local contacts to ensure people and resources are in the right place at the right time.
- Handle day-to-day logistics coordination; procurement and vendor management are not part of this role.
Stakeholder
Management
- Act as the primary point of contact between field teams, local communities,
and the programme leadership team.
- Communicate visit plans, updates, and changes to growers and farming communities clearly in Gujarati and Hindi.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with local agricultural stakeholders across Himatnagar, Mehsana, and the broader programme area in Gujarat.
- Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders in English for reporting and coordination with the wider team. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain complete, accurate programme records — activities completed, data collected, issues raised, and actions taken. These records are the operational backbone of the programme.
- Share structured, regular progress updates with programme leadership that keep the team informed and enable timely decisions.
- Prepare meeting notes, status reports, and operational summaries using MS Office tools. Ownership & Accountability
- Take full ownership of programme delivery on the ground — if something is at risk, you flag it early; if something is within your control, you fix it without waiting.
- Be the person the team can rely on — commitments made are commitments kept, and blockers are raised before they become problems.
- Operate independently in the field with minimal oversight while staying aligned with programme objectives. What We’re Looking For You will do well in this role if you:
- Are fluent in Gujarati, Hindi, and English — you move between all three depending on who you are talking to.
- Are comfortable in rural and farming environments — you will spend 60–80% of your time in the field across Gujarat.
- Are structured and organised — schedules, trackers, and records are always current.
- Communicate proactively — you keep stakeholders informed and surface issues without waiting to be asked.
- Take ownership end-to-end — you follow through on commitments and hold yourself accountable for outcomes. Must-Haves Experience
- 3–5 years in project management, programme coordination, field operations, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience managing schedules, coordinating field activities, and working across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience operating in rural, agricultural, or community-facing environments preferred.
- Comfort with record-keeping, progress tracking, and structured reporting.
Skills & Requirements
- Full fluency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English — spoken and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office — Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Gujarat — 60–80% of working time will be spent in the field.
- Candidate must be based in or willing to relocate to Himatnagar or Mehsana, Gujarat.
- Own vehicle or reliable access to transport for field visits preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Good to Have
- Prior experience working in agricultural programmes, rural development, or social sector field operations in Gujarat.
- Experience coordinating directly with farming or grower communities.
- Familiarity with mobile data collection or field tracking tools.
- Experience working with multi-location programmes or distributed field teams. About the Engagement
