For more information visit: www.bureauveritas.com FORM Job Title: Project Engineer – MEP Entity: Bureau Veritas India Pvt Ltd (BVIL) Location: Bangalore Reports to (job): Manager – B&I; – Bangalore Ø Purpose of Position The Project Engineer – MEP is responsible for design, engineering, automation, installation, and commissioning of conveyor and material handling systems. The role involves close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Major Responsibilities Design &

- Engineering Develop 3D models and 2D layouts for conveyor and material handling systems using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or NX. Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and control panels into system designs. Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation. Support design reviews and value engineering initiatives.

Automation Programming

Program, configure, and test PLCs (Rockwell / Allen-Bradley or equivalent). Develop and configure HMI screens for system monitoring and control. Interface PLCs with SCADA systems and third-party equipment. Perform logic validation, simulation, and FAT activities. Installation &

- Commissioning Supervise and support on-site installation of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Conduct system debugging, testing, and commissioning activities. Validate system performance against design requirements and operational KPIs.



Support SAT and final handover to the client. Troubleshooting &
- Optimization Analyze system performance and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for failures. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation-related issues. Optimize conveyor throughput, reliability, and system efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Project

Management &

- Coordination Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to execute project activities. Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables. Prepare and maintain technical reports, progress updates, and as-built documentation. Support change management and technical clarifications. Safety &
- Compliance Ensure designs and installations comply with NEC, ANSI, OSHA, and applicable local standards. Follow company and project HSE policies and procedures. Support risk assessments, method statements, and safe system of work. Promote a strong safety-first culture during engineering and site activities. x Ø Roles &

Responsibilities for HSE Must comply with the Company / Project Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations. To comply with company HSE requirements e.g. policies, procedures, guidelines, etc., and applicable local legal requirements (NEC, ANSI, OSHA, local electrical and safety regulations). Ensure that all designs, layouts, and installations comply with approved safety standards and statutory norms.

To take care of own health and safety as well as that of colleagues, contractors, and others at site. Immediate reporting of any HSE incident, near miss, unsafe act, or unsafe work practice / condition to his/her immediate reporting Line Manager. Support preparation and implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work related to MEP, electrical, and automation activities.





Promote and support a safety-first culture during engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. Sharing opportunities and suggestions for continuous improvement on HSE aspects. Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs) On-time delivery of engineering drawings, PLC/HMI programs, and technical documentation.

Quality and accuracy of designs, automation logic, and commissioning outputs. Compliance with internal and external guidelines, standards, and procedures. Effective coordination with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

Successful installation and commissioning without major safety incidents or rework. Client relationship – satisfaction, retention, and minimal complaints. Preparation and submission of technical reports, test records, and as-built documents without major observations.

Adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives. Compliance with Group / Company HSE and ethical guidelines.

Qualification and Experience General: Graduate Engineer BE/ B.Tech (Electrical /Mechanical) with min. 3 to 10 years or Diploma with 6-13 years of relevant experience in Automation/Conveyor Systems.

Technical: Knowledge of PLC &

- HMI programming, industrial automation, and conveyor systems is desirable. Exposure to MEP installation, testing, and commissioning activities. Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software is preferred. Working knowledge of QA/QC requirements related to MEP and automation works. Awareness of applicable electrical and safety codes (NEC, ANSI, OSHA or equivalent).

Skills &

- Qualities: Good communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation. Ability to comprehend and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong coordination skills with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Robust analytical and problem-solving mindset. Proactive approach towards quality, safety, and timely delivery.
