We are looking for a Principal Platform Engineer to help shape and evolve the engineering platform that powers the MyComplianceOffice platform.

The Platform Engineering team owns the systems and services that every engineer depends on, including OCI/Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, platform security, observability, automated testing infrastructure, and the deployment mechanisms that allow software to move safely and reliably from local development to production.

As Principal Platform Engineer, you will be the most senior individual contributor within the team and a key technical partner to the Director of Platform Engineering. You will provide technical leadership across the platform domain, drive architectural decisions, lead complex initiatives, and help establish the engineering standards that underpin software delivery across the company.

The platform sits at the heart of how software is built and operated at MCO and must support the reliability, security, and auditability requirements expected by some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

Your goal is simple: build and evolve a platform that allows engineers to deliver software faster, more safely, more reliably, and at lower cost.

Job Requirements As Principal Platform Engineer, you will help define the technical direction of MCO’s engineering platform and lead the design and implementation of some of the company’s most important platform initiatives. Working closely with engineering teams across the organisation, you will identify bottlenecks, simplify complex systems, and build capabilities that improve the productivity and effectiveness of every engineer at MCO.





A major part of the role will involve modernising and evolving MCO’s platform capabilities across infrastructure, software delivery, observability, security, automation, and developer experience. This includes driving architectural decisions, establishing engineering standards and best practices, and ensuring platform investments support both current needs and long-term growth.

The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Operations, and AI teams to solve complex technical challenges and drive platform adoption across the organisation. You will play a key role in major technical decisions, architecture reviews, incident response, platform reliability initiatives, and the ongoing evolution of MCO’s engineering practices.

While this is an individual contributor role, technical leadership is a critical part of the position. Success will depend on your ability to influence engineers across teams, mentor senior engineers, build consensus around technical direction, and raise the overall engineering bar across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities We are looking for an exceptional engineer with deep hands-on experience across Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, security, and software delivery.



You have spent years designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems and have developed strong judgement around reliability, security, scalability, automation, observability, and cost optimisation.

You enjoy solving difficult engineering problems and are comfortable working across infrastructure, architecture, automation, operations, and software delivery. You know when to go deep technically, when to simplify, and how to balance engineering quality with practical business outcomes.

Beyond technical expertise, you have a track record of influencing technical direction across teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering complex initiatives that span multiple systems and stakeholders. You are respected for your technical judgement, your ability to navigate ambiguity, and your willingness to take ownership of difficult problems.

Ideally, you have spent at least a few years working in a product company, startup, or scale-up setting where engineering speed, ownership, and business outcomes matter as much as technical excellence.

Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, modern CI/CD platforms, infrastructure automation, and platform security is expected. Exposure to Java-based enterprise environments, Oracle technologies, OCI, regulated industries, or AI-enabled engineering practices would be beneficial, but is not required.

Ultimately, we are looking for somebody who can raise the technical bar of the platform, modernise the way we build and operate software, and help engineering teams move faster with confidence.
