Role Description
AlienX Tech is looking for a passionate and experienced Platform Engineer to join our engineering team in Coimbatore. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on designing, building, and operating the platform that powers our products and engineering teams.
As a Platform Engineer, you will develop cloud-native microservices, automate infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud and self-hosted environments, and ensure high availability, security, and observability across our systems.
You will collaborate closely with backend developers, AI engineers, frontend developers, QA engineers, and product teams to create a scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly platform that accelerates software delivery and supports rapid innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Engineering
Design, build, and maintain scalable platform services and shared infrastructure.
Develop internal tools that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
Build reusable platform components and automation frameworks.
Maintain cloud-native and self-hosted infrastructure.
Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and deployment workflows.
Microservices Development
Design and develop scalable microservices using Go (Golang), Node.js, or similar backend technologies.
Build RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
Design event-driven systems using NATS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and RBAC.
Optimize service communication, database performance, caching, and distributed workloads.
Write clean, maintainable, tested, and well-documented code.
DevOps & Automation
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Pulumi,
or Ansible.
Manage deployment pipelines and release automation.
Implement rolling, blue-green, and zero-downtime deployment strategies.
Automate operational workflows using Go, Python, or Bash.
Containerization & Platform Operations
Build and optimize Docker images.
Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Manage self-hosted deployments using Coolify.
Configure reverse proxies, ingress controllers, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS, and networking.
Optimize container security and resource utilization.
Cloud Infrastructure
Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, DigitalOcean, and private cloud environments.
Configure networking, load balancers, storage, firewalls, and virtual machines.
Manage container registries and cloud resources.
Optimize infrastructure for scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
Database Administration
Deploy and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
Configure backups, replication, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Optimize database performance and availability.
Observability & Reliability
Implement distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry.
Configure monitoring and visualization using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenObserve, Jaeger, and Loki.
Build dashboards, alerts, and centralized logging solutions.
Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to troubleshoot production issues.
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
Security & DevSecOps
Implement OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
Manage application secrets using Vault, Kubernetes Secrets, or cloud secret managers.
Apply DevSecOps best practices across infrastructure and software delivery.
Perform vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and security hardening.
Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve engineering workflows.
Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and design reviews.
Review code and infrastructure changes.
Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong programming and software development skills.
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, Linux systems, networking, and databases.
Experience building or maintaining production-grade platforms, DevOps workflows, or backend systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

Experience deploying AI/ML, LLM, or GPU-based workloads.
Familiarity with SRE principles, Infrastructure as Code, and incident management.
