Role Description The Plantation Manager is a part-time, on-site role based in Kerala, India, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations across designated tea estate areas. This includes planning and supervising field activities such as planting, pruning, harvesting, and pest management, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role involves managing and guiding plantation workers, coordinating schedules, monitoring productivity, and maintaining accurate records on yields and inputs.

The Plantation

Manager will collaborate with senior management to implement sustainable farming practices, optimize resource use, and meet production targets, as well as liaise with suppliers, local authorities, and other stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications





Experience in plantation or agricultural management, preferably in tea, with knowledge of crop cycles, soil management, and sustainable farming practices.

Robust people management skills, including the ability to supervise field staff, coordinate work assignments, and foster a respectful, safe work environment.

Operational planning and organizational skills to manage daily activities, resource allocation, inventory, and basic reporting.

Comfort with basic data collection and record keeping (e.g., yield tracking, input usage, labor hours) and ability to use simple digital tools or spreadsheets.

Good communication skills in English and local languages used in Kerala, with the ability to liaise effectively with workers, management, and external stakeholders.

Understanding of workplace safety, environmental regulations, and quality standards relevant to agricultural and food production settings.

Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Ability to work on-site in rural plantation locations, adapt to changing field conditions, and be available according to seasonal operational needs in a part-time capacity.
