About the role: The Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll for all employees. The role requires strong analytical ability, knowledge of statutory requirements, and comfort working with digital payroll systems in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

- Execute and support the end-to-end payroll lifecycle, including validations, inputs, reconciliations, statutory compliance, approvals, and disbursements- Income tax computations, norms around personal Investment of employees for tax perks.
- Ensure payroll processing adheres to India regulations, internal controls, compliance & audit requirements, and company standards.
- Act as an operational escalation point for complex payroll issues, exceptions, and employee queries.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance,



Compliance and external tax consultant (for Income tax related norms) teams to resolve payroll queries and ensure timely closure of cases.
- Support customer engagements and contribute to meeting SLAs and quality metrics consistently.
- Added Advantage with expertise in implementing in-house payroll solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities in collaboration with the supervisor and internal teams.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation, including DTPs, process notes, and compliance checklists.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of strong payroll experience, including deep hands-on experience with Indian payroll operations.
- Strong knowledge of India payroll regulations, statutory requirements, and payroll processes.
- Added Advantage with expertise in implementing in-house payroll solutions.
- Strong understanding of India labor laws, statutory contributions, and compliance requirements.
- Experience communicating with all levels of an organization, especially the finance team.
