Role Description The Payment Specialist is responsible for managing and processing payment card transactions and related financial operations in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner. In this full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Chennai Area, the individual will work partly in office and partly from home, coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners.
Day-to-day tasks include reviewing payment instructions, validating transaction details, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies or payment issues.
The Payment
Specialist will monitor payment workflows, ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements,
and escalate risks or exceptions as needed. The role also involves preparing payment reports, supporting audits, responding to inquiries with clear communication, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret transaction data, identify discrepancies, and support process optimization.
- Candidates should possess Payment Card Processing experience, including handling transactions, reconciliations, chargebacks, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients, and to document processes clearly.
- Candidates should possess foundational Finance and Accounting skills to understand ledger entries, reconciliations, and basic financial controls.
- Candidates should ideally have experience in financial services, shared service centers, or payment operations, and familiarity with payment platforms or ERP systems.
- Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, high integrity, and the ability to work accurately under deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in payments or finance are an advantage.
