Role Overview

We're looking for a Patent Consultant to help us understand the intellectual property landscape in our sector and assess our patent-readiness. This is a short-term, phased engagement starting with a discovery phase, with a potential second phase for actual patent filing based on what's identified. Phase 1 — Discovery

Conduct a patent landscape analysis specific to our sector (IoT, embedded systems, custom software, and digital transformation solutions)

Identify existing patents relevant to or overlapping with our business, technologies, and products

Assess whether any of our current or upcoming work has patentable potential

Provide a clear discovery report outlining findings, risks (if any existing patents overlap with our work), and recommendations

Advise on the general patent structure/landscape applicable to our industry in India (and internationally, if relevant) Phase 2 — Filing (Scope-Dependent)

Based on Phase 1 findings, support the actual patent filing process for any identified patentable work

Guide us through documentation, application process,



and filing requirements

Coordinate with patent authorities/attorneys as needed through to filing completion What We're Looking For

Proven experience in patent research, IP discovery, or patent filing — ideally with exposure to technology/software/IoT sectors

Strong understanding of patent law, patentability criteria, and the filing process in India

Ability to independently conduct patent landscape/prior-art searches

Transparent, concise reporting and communication skills

Comfortable with a short-term, phased consulting engagement rather than a full-time role Engagement Type
