At BHARTIYA SKILL DEVELOPMENT UNIVERSITY, we need a experienced Furniture design faculty for the role of the Program Coordinator (PC) - Bachelor of Furniture Design and Manufacturing in the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. This new program will give a balanced emphasis on furniture design as well as manufacturing competencies.

We value innovation, industry relevance, and applied learning. Over the last 8 years, BSDU has developed an outstanding state-of-the-art facility for woodworking as well as metal fabrication work. BSDU also has a network with some companies engaged in this area.

The PC will serve as the academic and administrative anchor for the program, ensuring its design, delivery, and continuous improvement are aligned with BSDUs vision of integrating skill-based education with academic excellence. The PC will lead faculty and trainer team, industry linkages, and quality initiatives to nurture globally competent graduates through active, experiential, and outcome-driven learning.

1. Essential Qualifications: B.Tech/B.Des/B.Arch and M.Des., PhD (Desirable)

2. Essential Experience: Assistant Professor: 8+ years in furniture design and manufacturing, of which at least 4 years must be post M.Des.
Candidate with PhD and more experience can be considered for the Associate Professor position.

Excellent research publication record or an outstanding industrial experience in developing patents, significant industrial reports, industrial designs, professional articles, and technical documents in the specified areas.
c. Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting proposals for research grants, consultancy assignments, or industry-sponsored projects.
d. Experience in Curriculum and Course Design applying the paradigms of Outcome-Based Education and/or Competency-Based Education.
e. Deep interest in guiding student projects.
f. Demonstrated experience and commitment to Active Learning and Experiential Learning approaches.
g. Consistently excellent teaching feedback, reflecting the ability to engage and inspire students across different learning levels.
h. Robust innovative mindset with the ability to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement creative solutions.
i. Excellent teamworking, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic, administrative, and industry interfaces.
j. Ability to multi-task, manage diverse responsibilities, and perform efficiently under time constraints and institutional deadlines.
k. International exposure through study, collaboration, or teaching experience will be considered an advantage.
