Role Overview

The SAP Business Technology Platform Consultant will design, build, test, deploy, and operationalize enterprise-grade solutions across SAP BTP services while supporting innovation in cloud-native quality engineering. The role requires a well-rounded consultant who understands the end-to-end BTP lifecycle, SAP enterprise realities, and the practical challenges of testing distributed digital systems. This is a solution architecture and innovation-focused position, not a narrow development assignment, with responsibility for translating enterprise gaps into scalable, reusable, and productizable solutions. The consultant will work across product, engineering, customer success, presales, SAP functional, and delivery stakeholders while maintaining strong technical ownership and business clarity.

Key Responsibilities

- Design scalable SAP BTP solutions across application development, integration, workflow, automation, data, API, and extension scenarios.
- Build cloud-native applications, services, extensions, workflows, integrations, and APIs using appropriate SAP BTP tools and design patterns.
- Test BTP applications, APIs, workflows, integration flows, event-driven processes, and cloud deployments using structured quality approaches.
- Deploy BTP solutions through repeatable release, transport, and CI/CD practices aligned with enterprise governance expectations.
- Architect solutions using SAP CAP, Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, Cloud Foundry Runtime, and clean-core extensibility principles.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs across scalability, maintainability, security, performance, cost efficiency, testing feasibility, and operational reliability.
- Identify testing, integration, automation, release, and process gaps in customer SAP and non-SAP landscapes.
- Conceptualize reusable accelerators, frameworks, tool ideas, implementation patterns, and automation assets that can scale across customers.
- Develop practical testing strategies for UI, API, integration, workflow, event, regression, and end-to-end business-process validation.
- Collaborate with AI-driven and codeless testing platforms to improve SAP test coverage, execution reliability, defect visibility, and release confidence.
- Create business cases, ROI narratives, and justification material that translate technical solution ideas into measurable customer value.
- Partner with presales, product, engineering, delivery, and customer-facing teams to bridge business needs and technical execution.
- Document architecture, requirements, testing strategies, release procedures, solution options, and recommendations with consulting-grade clarity.
- Mentor cross-functional teams on SAP BTP design principles, clean-core extension approaches, integration patterns, and automation-led delivery practices.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a closely related discipline. A master's degree or postgraduate qualification in technology, systems, business analytics, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation is advantageous but not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate credible academic grounding in software engineering, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, integration,

Strong candidates will have participated in design, build, test, deploy, maintain, or operationalize responsibilities across at least one specialized BTP area, while also demonstrating breadth across several services. Relevant experience should include SAP and non-SAP integrations, S/4HANA extensions, API-led design, cloud-native solution delivery, automated testing considerations, and stakeholder-facing consulting responsibilities.
