Job Summary:

The MEP Engineer / Sr. Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily execution of all HVAC, firefighting, electrical distribution, plumbing, water treatment (STP/WTP), and Low Voltage (ELV/IBMS) systems.



This professional will ensure that installations align with approved shop drawings, strict quality standards, local building codes, and safety protocols from design development to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

- Coordinate services: Manage day-to-day in office activities across HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and firefighting infrastructure.
- Manage teams: Supervise MEP site engineers, technicians, and specialized trade subcontractors.
- Schedule monitoring: Plan daily resource allocation and manpower deployment to hit tight project milestones.
- Clash resolution: Identify physical or spatial conflicts between MEP lines and structural elements, coordinating adjustments via BIM or AutoCAD.

2. Design Review & Quality Control

- Drawing scrutiny: Review consultant blueprints, vendor data sheets, and contractor shop drawings for technical compliance before execution.
- Site inspections: Conduct regular on-site checks to ensure installation methods match approved specifications.
- Material verification: Inspect inbound MEP materials and equipment for quality assurance against approved mockup.

3. Procurement, Contracts & Tendering

- Tender preparation: Assist in drafting technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and special contract terms.
- Commercial evaluation: Collect vendor quotations and build technical-commercial comparison sheets for senior pricing committees.
- Billing verification: Review contractor measurement sheets and certify invoices for completed MEP milestones.

4. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

- Pre-commissioning tests: Oversee initial lines testing,



including pipeline hydrostatic pressure, system flushing, and cable insulation tests.
- Performance testing: Witness integrated testing of heavy equipment like chillers, DG sets, transformers, and STP plants.
- Facility handover: Organize and compile as-built drawings, operations & maintenance manuals, and warranties for the facility management team.

5. Compliance, Safety & Documentation

- Regulatory alignment: Ensure all building services satisfy local fire codes, electrical inspectorate guidelines, and environmental laws.
- Green building support: Assist in fulfilling certifications such as LEED or regional green building standards.
- Safety oversight: Administer permit-to-work protocols for high-risk operations like hot work or high-voltage grid testing.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years of site engineering experience in real estate development or large commercial construction projects.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD (MEP modules) and project management systems like MS Project or ERP environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern HVAC chillers, electrical sub-stations, smart building automation, and high-rise plumbing systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities, clear stakeholder communication, and the leadership traits necessary to manage aggressive contractor timelines.
