We are looking for an experienced Merchant Acquisition Specialist with a strong background in the Banking & Payments domain . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with merchant acquiring systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to investigate and resolve complex production and business issues.

Responsibilities

- Support and manage merchant onboarding and merchant lifecycle processes.
- Analyze merchant acquisition workflows and recommend process improvements.
- Investigate production issues, transaction failures, settlement discrepancies, and merchant-related incidents.
- Perform SQL and Oracle database analysis to troubleshoot business and technical issues.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, and Banking Operations teams.
- Validate merchant configuration, terminal setup, pricing, fees, and settlement rules.
- Analyze transaction flows across POS, payment gateway, and acquiring systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents and support release validation.
- Participate in system testing, UAT, and production deployments.

Required Skills





- 4–15 years of experience in Merchant Acquiring / Merchant Management within the Banking or Payments industry.
- Strong understanding of:
- Merchant on boarding
- Merchant lifecycle management
- Payment processing
- Merchant settlement
- Transaction lifecycle
- Merchant pricing and fee structures
- Robust Java knowledge.
- Excellent SQL skills.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database .
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and investigation skills.
- Experience supporting production applications.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and technical workflows.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of card payment processing (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
- Familiarity with ISO 8583 message formats.
- Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, or Microservices.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Basic Shell or Python scripting knowledge is an advantage.
- Understanding of reconciliation, settlement, chargebacks, and dispute management.
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance and payment security concepts.
