Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and methodical candidate to lead and own delivery end to end for the Statistics and Forecasting Team. The right candidate will be actively involved in model development, validation, and quality assurance while also setting direction for the team, managing workstreams, and communicating outputs to senior stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of statisticians, setting clear objectives and maintaining output quality.
- Plan and prioritise workstreams across concurrent projects, ensuring timelines and standards are met.
- Develop, calibrate, and refine statistical models; including forecasting, regression, hierarchical, and Bayesian frameworks.
- Conduct model diagnosis, testing, and validation using appropriate statistical methodologies.
- Lead hypothesis testing workflows: define objectives, develop best practices, and translate outputs for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with engineering and reporting teams to ensure model reproducibility and scalability.
- Own end-to-end delivery of statistical forecasts, dashboards, research reports, and team deliverables.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience with a strong focus on statistical modelling, forecasting, and inference.
- Demonstrated experience managing or leading a team of analysts or statisticians.
- Strong working proficiency in R and/or STATA; familiarity with SPSS or EViews is acceptable.
- Solid command of inferential statistics, linear and non-linear regression.
- Hands-on experience with hierarchical models, time series, and panel data.
- Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
- Strong communication skills- able to interpret and present statistical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
