The AI Governance Manager will be responsible for establishing and embedding the organisation’s framework for the safe, ethical, and compliant use of AI and machine learning. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, the AI Governance Manager will ensure that AI systems are designed, deployed, and monitored in line with emerging regulatory requirements, organisational risk appetite, and ethical standards. The role involves working with business, technology, risk, compliance, and operations teams to ensure AI systems are implemented in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and maintain the organization’s AI Governance Framework and related policies.
- Maintain a centralized inventory of AI and automated decision-making use cases across business functions.
- Lead AI risk assessments, identifying and mitigating risks related to privacy, bias, fairness, explainability, and security.
- Coordinate with business and technology teams to review and approve AI use cases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance standards relating to AI, privacy, cybersecurity, and customer protection.
- Conduct AI-related due diligence for third-party vendors and fintech partners.
- Monitor and report on regulatory developments in AI governance, digital lending, data protection, and financial sector regulations.
- Prepare governance reports, dashboards,



presentations, and management updates for senior leadership.
- Drive awareness and training programs on responsible AI practices.
- Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and control assessments related to AI systems.
- Maintain documentation of AI governance reviews, approvals, testing, and monitoring activities.
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Risk, Data Analytics, and Business teams to ensure responsible AI adoption.

Qualifications and Skills : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with knowledge in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related fields. Certifications such as, ISO42001, IAPP AIGP or similar are preferred. Experience : Overall 5-6 years of experience, with knowledge in Information Technology/Information Security, out of which at least 2-3 years of experience in AI governance, data protection, technology risk, model and operational risk with basic understanding of AI/ML and familiarity with Indian regulatory environment including RBI guidelines and digital lending eco-system.

Technical expertise : Understanding of AI models, machine learning lifecycle, and algorithmic bias.

Communication skills : Robust communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, legal, risk, and compliance teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
