We foster a culture of inclusion through: Talent, Education & Communication, Employee Groups and Celebration. , Ralph Lauren is seeking to engage an in-house legal counsel on a fixed term contract to support its corporate functions and business operations in India. Reporting to the Head of Corporate, Commercial & Data Privacy, Legal, APAC and the Head of the Global Capability Center, India, the position will be part of the regional APAC Legal Department and will be based at the corporate office in Bangalore.,
Provide legal and compliance advice and support to Ralph Lauren’s corporate functions and business in India, including on employment matters, IT / data privacy, corporate housekeeping and legal risk management
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts as required by the business teams and various internal departments, including sourcing, procurement, vendor and service agreements
Conduct research and provide analysis and advice on various regulatory matters, as well as other general areas of law that are relevant to the corporate functions and business
Ensure that operations in India comply with applicable Indian laws and Ralph Lauren’s internal policies and guidelines
Work closely with other members of the APAC Legal Department (based in Hong Kong) to ensure alignment and consistency in approach to legal issues
Manage and liaise with external counsel
Undertake any ad hoc legal projects and assignments as required , Recognised law degree and admitted to practice as an advocate in India
Minimum 8 years’ post qualification experience (prior in-house experience would be helpful, but not required)
Good general commercial law background
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly useful: employment/labour, IT/data privacy, sourcing, distribution/licensing/wholesale, retail
Ability to work independently
Valuable analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to occasionally travel around the region when required
