Purpose

SGA is rapidly expanding its Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Independent Sponsor practice and is looking for an experienced Manager to service mid-market and lower mid-market PE, VC, and Independent Sponsor clients across the entire investment life cycle, from pre-LOI sector research through post-LOI portfolio monitoring and exit planning.

The ideal candidate will bring strong financial modeling and deal-structuring expertise, a track record of preparing IC-ready deliverables, and the ability to lead a team while independently managing complex and evolving client relationships. The candidate should be comfortable challenging existing processes, driving efficiencies through emerging AI tools, and proactively identifying opportunities to deepen client engagements. This role also requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and successful project outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities: Own end-to-end delivery across the investment life cycle for mid-market and lower mid-market PE, VC, and Independent Sponsor clients, spanning pre-LOI activities (sector thesis development, target screening, industry trend analysis, teasers, one pager LBO models, etc.)



through post-LOI activities (deal structuring support, detailed LBO/DCF model, company valuation, detailed IC memos, portfolio monitoring, and exit planning, etc.)

Develop sector theses, track macro industry trends and drivers, and identify relevant KPIs for niche sectors

Prepare teasers, information memorandums, competitive landscape assessments, sector reports, and financial and operational benchmarking

Identify and profile potential platform or add-on targets for sponsor-led deals

Build and review databooks, KPI analysis, and cohort analysis using CIMs and other data room files shared by potential platform/add-on targets under NDA

Build and maintain detailed, complex financial models, including LBO, DCF, and fund models, and conduct IRR analysis using sensitivity tables

Recommend deal structuring approaches based on model outputs, returns analysis, and market context

Prepare and quality-check detailed IC memos covering industry trends, financial snapshots of target companies, sensitivity of returns, and exit options

Conduct portfolio analysis, including KPI testing and scenario-based exit outcome analysis

Ensure the quality of client deliverables through independent review, and build strong client relationships to maximize retention and delight

Lead client governance calls and manage escalations

Identify and convert opportunities to deepen and grow client engagements through internal mining

Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing processes, bringing industry best practices, and integrating available and emerging AI tools

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10-12 Analysts/Sr.



Analysts and 3-4 Associates, including on-the-job and structured training

Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and successful project outcomes Requirements: At least 8 years of experience working with or servicing mid-market and lower mid-market PE, VC, or Independent Sponsor clients

Strong understanding of the PE/VC investment life cycle across pre- and post-LOI stages, fund structures, and key deliverables such as financial models, IC memos, thematic research, and KPI analysis (financial and operational)

Proven proficiency in building complex financial models, including LBO, DCF, and fund models, along with IRR, sensitivity, and cohort analysis, and valuation techniques

Track record of independently managing unstructured, open-ended, and evolving client mandates

Working knowledge of databases such as AlphaSense, Grata (SourceScrub), CapIQ, Pitchbook, Reuters, Factset, and Bloomberg

Excellent analytical and presentation skills with strong attention to detail

Experience managing client relationships, leading governance calls, and handling escalations

Experience conducting on-the-job and structured training for team members

Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, with composure in complex and ever-evolving client situations

Skilled at handling difficult or sensitive client conversations with tact and professionalism

Commercially minded, with an instinct for spotting opportunities to deepen and grow client engagements

Continuous-improvement mindset, with openness to challenging the status quo and adopting new tools and best practices

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Results oriented Education Qualification: MBA Finance / CFA Charter holder
