Job Summary

The Lead Scientist in R&D; is responsible for design and development of dyes and reagents (antibody-dye conjugates) used for its application on flow cytometry. Provides leadership and expertise needed for any chemistry related workflows and solutions for assay and reagent development.

Location

Bangalore, India (on-site).

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the chance to:

- Leads the product development of fluorescence dyes and antibody-dye conjugates for its application in flow cytometry.
- Mentoring a team of development scientists in R&D; and partners with functions including product management, service, manufacturing, and QRA to drive project successfully.
- Consider product roadmap and lifecycle when making design tradeoff decisions.
- Reviews and analyzes data, writes and reviews reports, and summarizes and presents results to the global team.
- Present project updates, technical findings, and strategic recommendations to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Be present in the lab and set clear expectations with the development scientist, define roles and responsibilities, and ensure alignment between team activities and broader project goals.

Essential requirements





- PhD or Master's degree in Organic Chemistry/Polymer chemistry/Dye synthesis/Protein chemistry with special focus on conjugate development and applications or related field.
- Functional understanding antibody-antigen interaction is a must. Keen understanding and hands on experience in various analytical tools for understanding protein-protein, protein-dye interaction like SPR, fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years in a technical leadership position
- Strong understanding of assay product development cycles (ISO 9001:13485), including feasibility, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of design of experiments principles, execution, and statistical data analysis methodologies using various statistical analysis tools, e.g., JMP or Minitab. Knows when a design and analysis is needed and is robust.

Travel and environment

- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Will be working in a chemistry laboratory conditions

Additional experience

- Development of polymer dyes or working with polymer chemistry.
